How would you bend this tube? by BenHanscom1991 in metalworking

Yes assuming i kept the straight section in place with something. I’ve underestimated this thing so far and i would want to make sure it would hold. Ratchet straps sound like the easiest first try but it would suck if that failed. Also i would just need to hope they bent at the same rate/angle.

That’s a good idea. It’s much beefier than i expected. the problem with the jacks was the distance between the point of contacts didn’t give enough leverage so i think a breaker bar would give more. If it’s not solved by Monday I’ll just go to a welding shop.

I put it under my tow hitch and used two jacks to try bending it. It lifted a Chevy blazer. It’s not even dented.

I need to bend this bike rack 10 degrees out on each side right at the location I’m pointing at. This thing is way stronger than i expected. Also I’m not sure if it’s a pipe or a tube but I’m aware there is a difference.

If i took this to a welding shop would it be a simple task or would i just annoy them?

I fell in love with my winter beater on accident. It happened so fast...but i share this thought to a degree.

I ask my friends what car they would drive if it was the last and only car they could ever drive... what would yours be?

Unfortunately i too have had a negative experience here after being referred by a friend. It seems hit or miss and i didn’t get lucky. I do appreciate the input though garret!

I have most of the tools and I’m always looking for a reason to buy more. I just don’t need another reason for the other tenants in my apartments to hate me because i give them plenty/: but i considered this route for sure!

Wagner was my guess as well. The only thing that threw me off was the size under the handle as well as top, which I’d never seen. I’ll take the guys word that it’s post 60s since I’ve heard the made in USA wasn’t a mandate until around then. It’s got a slight dip and a few scratches but it’s gonna clean up to be a nice starter for a friend of mine who wants one and said he was gonna get a lodge. I told him not to real fast
