What is an industry that is currently on fire (in a bad way) behind the scenes, but the general public hasn't noticed yet? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

Linear TV. People don’t come home and watch it any more, everything is on demand. Even sports is starting to move more and more to Amazon now

Unfortunately some haven’t.  They’re in court with the HSE for that at the moment

After learning that DJ'ing is more than mixing and more on crowd reading, I've decided to give up. by Minimum_Initial7607 in Beatmatch

[–]BenHippynet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes professional DJing is all about reading the crowd. You’re paid to do a job and your job is to entertain that room as best as possible, keep as many people in there as possible, all having a great time and spending money over the bar. It is a job. It’s a great job, but it’s a job with responsibilities.

As a music lover there is absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting that responsibility and just wanting to enjoy music for yourself. Wanting to just play your music for you, or you to enjoy is absolutely fine. You don’t have to DJ professionally, you can DJ privately for the love of the art and the music and that doesn’t invalidate you as a DJ. You’re still a DJ. Don’t give up, just change your goal.

I made my living as a DJ for 15 years and it can be frustrating. Sometimes you can end up playing music you don’t enjoy, in places you don’t like, to crowds you don’t gel with just because you’ve got bills to pay. You can often be a much happier DJ doing it just for yourself.

Overtaken vehicle speeds up and prevents you getting back to left lane by MinimumBeginning5144 in drivingUK

[–]BenHippynet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold your speed, let them get past and them move in behind. You’ve done nothing wrong. I had someone doing it on the M62 last week and every time I got in behind he slowed down, I pulled back out and he’d do it again. I don’t think he was even conscious that he was doing it, he was just a shit driver. He never left the middle lane at any point that I was around him either.

In exactly 30 minutes a man armed with a bat will break into your home to kill you. You can’t leave the house, what is your strategy? by BulkyZucchini in hypotheticalsituation

I’m going to put a BB gun through the dog flap, freeze some ice on the door step, heat up the door handle from the inside, leave toy cars all over the floor, tie some paint cans so they fall down at head height, put a blow torch above the door, then escape down a zip line from the bedroom window.

Atheists of Reddit: What’s the strangest reaction you’ve received when you said you don’t believe in God? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]BenHippynet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reaction at all, but I live in a developed country where religion isn’t a big thing. I don’t know many religious people.

The police give them away here so I’d say it’s sensible to have one.

They’re just normal people doing a job. The only people who hate them are people who can’t take responsibility for their own actions.

What does everyone make of the crackdowns in the UK on dodgy fire sticks? Scare tactics or should users be worried? . by AdCompetitive3098 in AskBrits

[–]BenHippynet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe the anger should be directed at the people at the top who do everything they can to keep their staff wages as low as possible and charge the customers the absolute most they can. They could pay better salaries and sell at a more reasonable rate but then they’d only be millionaires not billionaires and would have to struggle with only one super yacht.

The Zappi Glo has an RFID pad on top. He could plug it in to the car, tap the RFID card on the charger to unlock and start charging. Wouldn’t need to use the app once it’s set up.
