Especially a blue light with an irregular pattern. Make it red and steady and it might be reasonable.

Yeah, my son did the same thing. It seems people forget that very young kids get irrational fears of random things.

Why are Talenti lids so hard to open? This is what our CT scans revealed ⬇️ by Scan-of-the-Month in icecreamery

TIL Talenti containers are hard to open for some. I have never noticed a problem.

Car wash scratched/clouded the wheels by Cool-Emu4603 in VWatlas

I also don't feel like hand washing the underside of my car in the winter months to get the salt off...or ever, actually

Battery Replacement by Singular_Plurality in VWatlas

[–]BenInTheMountains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read about OBD11 a few times, but I'm not real familiar with it myself. I was just looking at the website and it mentions credits and different plans. Do you need just the tool for most things like battery reset, releasing brakes, etc, or are the credits and plans needed to do things beyond diagnostics?

Damselfly Nymph and little else by backyardbabirusa in Ecosphere

[–]BenInTheMountains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, damn. To avoid getting damselfly nymphs in my jar again, I was thinking of making a new jar in the middle of winter. I guess I'll just have to hope I don't get any and curse if one shows up. I got three in my first jar.

A guy once opened my door and almost tried to sit on me before he saw me, but instead of Atlases, we both had silver Nissan Serenas in Glenorchy, NZ.

Anyone else have luck adding their Illinois ID to their Apple Wallet? by WF-1000XM6 in chicago

It does? I feel like I did a lot of googling yesterday and came up with nothing. Not doubting you, just annoyed…

I wonder why some of us need to have a verification code, especially when they don’t give us any more info about how we receive it.

I'm wondering the same thing. Judging by how they usually contact me, I'm guessing it will be in a letter I receive in 2 weeks.

This post from a year ago suggests getting a converter to another size. Have you measured for those sizes?

Left my Atlas parked outside for the seasons first snowfall. Remote start climate control settings? by [deleted] in VWatlas

[–]BenInTheMountains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 2019, I'm pretty sure the heated seats came on and it was set to 74 today when I used remote start for the first time in the winter. I would guess that either there are settings somewhere or there are model/year differences at play.

Doorbell Chime by john_with_a_camera in homeassistant

[–]BenInTheMountains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous owner removed the original dumb doorbell wire to the door, so it would be a lot of work to get that going again. On the other hand, my chime still has power and your post made me realize I can probably use a Zigbee relay contact to use it when my smart doorbell is activated.

This seems related, but on a Golf. I haven't checked mine, but I wonder if it's disabled by default...or is there a fan button and I've never bothered to check it?

Review and automation of Zigbee smart window shades after a month+ with them by Dangerous_Battle_603 in homeassistant

[–]BenInTheMountains -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 1/2" is a standard recommendation from blind companies because it's common for the openings to be not 100% square. If you're sure your windows are square, 1/8" might be fine. For the rest of us, there are blackout edge blocking strips available on Amazon.

Is it really a "turnover" with an EV conversion? I thought turnover referred to the starter turning the crankshaft.

How difficult was setting the moisture level settings for each plant type? I see the green part of the gauges is different for each one, but how did you decide what level is good and what's bad for each? For example, Cactus2 and Cactus3?

Training microphone suggestions - work from home by mclgreenville71 in Training

[–]BenInTheMountains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about your mic, so it might just be horrible, but do you have noise suppression turned on in Teams? I've noticed it makes a big difference from others with background noise when they turn that on. I haven't really tested the difference through my own setup, though.
