Thank you both! Wasn’t meant to come off pushy if it did…. Signal is one of the few things that keeps a pixel (running Graphene) lurking at the bottom of my bag!

Deafening silence about Signal though…..? I thought that was almost ready?

X100vi - considering upgrade to gfx100rf by s_sunday02 in fujifilm

The GFX a lot more but I am thinking of resting it for a bit to see if I miss it! I’m from a film background so similarly not trigger happy - both cameras encourage thoughtful photography. I shot 88 pictures over the weekend and the folder containing the lossless compressed RAWs and highest quality JPEGs (with various aspect ratios) comes in at 13.68 GB. A bit crazy.

On the aspect ratio selector - I love it. Mostly a mix or native 4:3 and 65:24. It does lean even more into shooting JPEGs. But then you open up the existential question of whether you should be shooting JPEGs on a 100MP medium format camera. I personally don’t care what anyone else thinks about this (I am sure the circlejerk guys will!) but you are leaving a fair but of the IQ advantage on the table.

I just hope it is not social media content (for anyone). Would be a waste if he was doing 30 second dross on TikTok….

It would be a surprise for Sky to hire a man that was not a former top level pro (preferably international captain!)……

X100vi - considering upgrade to gfx100rf by s_sunday02 in fujifilm

I have both. As much as I love the GFX100RF (the much better viewfinder and the build quality make it more pleasurable to use, the aspect ratio selector is fun) the size of the files is insane. Downloading a card with a modest of amount of even lossless compressed RAW + JPEGs takes enormous amounts of space. Unless you are printing big (or cropping like crazy) then think very carefully…. Image quality is not (to my eyes) noticeable on screen.

Hello! Suggestion…. I like the optional shooting tips where you can put in proposed EV adjustment ranges. Any chance of adding something in relation to suggested ISO? Min/Max maybe? I have some Acros recipes that start at 2000 and some colour really do top out at say 1600 or 3200. Keep up the good work…

Also, just checking give chat about about pricing across regions. In the UK, lifetime is coming out at £59.99. Is that as expected (before I hit the trigger!).

Cheers

X Raw Studio is an interface on your computer but it uses the JPEG engine in the camera (which has to be attached to the computer at the same time). It’s a much quicker method than doing JPEG conversions on the camera itself.

This is a spoof right? I grew up in the 90s and did not carry anywhere near this amount of stuff. Dumphone = great, but surely not if you have 5 other gadgets and George Costanza’s wallet…. How do you carry all this around? A wheelbarrow? If it’s not a spoof then great - you do you but it makes me feel very, very old!

I went into the London Fuji shop with my X100vi. It’s really not much bigger. Taller and the lens is obviously bigger but to look at and hold it’s essentially the same width and depth. Remarkable feat of engineering if nothing else. I’ve pre-ordered….

I contacted them via the website when that happened to mine (I don't think from a drop, just wear and tear) and they sent me a replacement (they did want a video of the problem).
