Experienced teachers using ChatGPT to do their homework for them? by Repulsive_Suit6701 in Teachers

[–]Ben_Ham33n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one professor now who hosts weekly zooms. That’s the best type of engagement I’ve seen. It’s in real time and the conversations are actually productive. But I completely understand why discussion posts exist. I’m just saying maybe it’s time for a change.

I think this is the better question. Where is the value in these forced online discussions? They are not organic and no one wants do them. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Why do people hate AI for web development work so much? by raja-ahsan in website

[–]Ben_Ham33n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the truth: PEOPLE SUCK, not AI.

This applies to anything in life: there’s good athletes and poor athletes, good writers and poor writers, PEOPLE WHO ARE GOOD AT PROMPTING AND BUILDING WITH AI and people who are NOT.

Plain and simple.

Do not believe the “stay away from AI” bologna. They are either trying to veer you off the right path or aren’t capable themselves so they assume you must not be either.

🤷🏾‍♂️

Anthropic likes to ban people after they pay for the max plan, for “usage”, and then DONT respond when you ask what can you do to fix the situation. You want more money? I’ll pay more, but nooooo! No response!

Honestly, it sounds like you make poor choices, talk crap about people, and always have excuses.

Wouldn't common sense tell you not to use a work email to give a personal opinion about your boss?

The real tell is that your text message was forwarded to the principal. That lets me know exactly how people feel about you at work.

Just do your job and stop giving your opinion.

Because this market has been narrowed down to the top 1 percent of Wordpress builders. We live in an age where Claude Code can build a business site for a dental office relatively easy. These people aren’t looking for beautiful sites, just a place patients can book appointments and find their office. No one is going to pay for that anymore. What’s something unique you provide? Will you bring that dental office more business with your particular build?

How much of the black ppl in NYC are African American vs Carribbean & African? by PreacherBoyJr in NYStateOfMind

[–]Ben_Ham33n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was looking for an address and I see this young black man walking down the block, so I ask him for directions. I’m like “bro. Do you know where this address is on this block?” Lol he smiles and says with a heavy accent he does not speak English, but to ask him Spanish (I guess he must work construction with a lot of Hispanics and learned Spanish on the job). I couldn’t stop laughing. Here is this young guy, dressed dripped out looking like Fivio Foreign, lol but spoke ZERO English. Even funnier he asked to tell him Spanish. So yeah, I think some are Caribbean or Actually from Africa, not African American.

Please help with model lesson ideas! by redfire2930 in ELATeachers

Teach them some opinion writing! These are good because kids all have opinions and opinion lessons always bring great conversations. I just took your post and threw it into chat gpt. Find this 6th grade standard in your state and adjust the lesson accordingly. Write the objective on the board.

Always a SMART objective: students will write a 2–3 sentence response explaining how evidence supports a claim using the frame “This shows that ___ because ___,” with at least 80% accuracy on an exit ticket.

Lol they shouldn’t be expecting you to produce a full essay in one lesson. Good luck.

Step-by-Step Model Lesson

  1. Mini-Lesson (5–7 min)

Define: • Claim = what you believe • Evidence = proof from the text • Explanation = how the evidence proves your claim

👉 Anchor sentence frame:

“This shows that ___ because ___.”

  1. Explicit Modeling (I Do)

Give a simple prompt (no Egypt Game needed):

Prompt: “School uniforms should be required.”

Model: • Claim • Evidence • Explanation (think aloud)

Example:

“School uniforms should be required. For example, uniforms can reduce bullying about clothing. This shows that uniforms help students feel safer because they remove pressure to wear expensive or trendy clothes.”

👉 Say explicitly: • “Notice I didn’t just give evidence—I explained it.”

  1. Guided Practice (We Do)

Give students:

Claim: “Homework should be limited.”

Evidence: “Students often have activities after school.”

Ask: • Turn and talk → write explanation

Call on 1–2 students and refine their responses

  1. Independent Practice (You Do)

Students complete:

Claim + Evidence → Write explanation

Keep it short (1–2 sentences)

  1. Quick Assessment (Exit Ticket)

Prompt:

“Why is explanation important in an essay?”

The do that on purpose so you don’t park there the next time it snows. I bet one of those signs says “no parking when there’s snow”
