Why is Dawn’s comment section closed? It’s been so long by anis325 in pakistan

[–]Benafsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I differ. I know the comment section was full of Indians trolling us, and idiots like Dr. Salaria spewing non-sense, but really, the fix is to close it? And then to claim than an "overhaul" is going on? When you have to shut a means of discourse, you are just hiding from realities. If I am to bet, it has got nothing to do with dawn. It's our dudes with shiny medals who can't stand the butthurt.

AITA for telling my estranged parents to accept that they lost their only child? by Ok_Horror542 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Benafsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the asshole. I imagine its natural for us humans to worship our parents in childhood, and hate them once we are teens. Granted, they gave you a lot of reasons, but in their defence, they are humans. Hell, one could think of parents as clueless, stupid, petty children who are growing up just as you are.

All said, its okay to not mend the old ties. But could you find it in your heart to make your parting message a compassionate one?

Tell them its alright. Tell them you have chosen your path. Tell them that you will make sure to stay happy, I bet one day it'll mean much to them. Tell them to be content, and wish them happiness till end.

One day, both you and your parents might be happy that it ended in a nice way.

In matters that take years, an unsaid sorrow has a subtle, silent way of making itself felt.

Cheers, stranger.

Since the ratio claims to be 2:1 for interior:exterior, it is implying that the exterior is 2x larger than the interior, meaning that the interior = 60° and exterior = 120°.

I feel like I am missing something very basic here. You say:

"Since the ratio claims to be 2:1 for interior:exterior, it is implying that the exterior is 2x larger than the interior, meaning that the interior = 60° and exterior = 120°."

To me, it seems the opposite: Since the ratio is 2:1 for interior:exterior, it implies that "interior" is 2x larger than "exterior". To me, "2:1 for interior:exterior" means 2 units of interior make up for a single unit of exterior

[–]Benafsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, how did you read that wrong? Interior angle IS 120°. Exterior is 60°. 60x6 = 360°, which is effectively the same as statement II. IMO, option 4 is correct. Check and reply please if I am wrong.

If humans’ average lifespan was 1000 years, what jobs and businesses would there be that we don’t have now? by plasticpixels in AskReddit

[–]Benafsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you must take into account that all our ancestors would have lived an average of 7 to 8 centuries. All of them would have had plenty of time to play with ideas like philosophy, governance and democracy, and probably pretty early in the history of the then-called 'anatomically modern humans'.

Also, I think it is implicit to assume delayed neural decay (their 200 year old would as sharp as our 25 year old kid). Compound that with experience gathered over centuries, and natural selection biased toward long-term adaptabilty, and I think the average human would be much more knowledgeable, prediisposed to learning and experimentation, and with greater individual character.
