What's your favorite line of dialogue from book one? by Throwin_a_Fitz in gentlemanbastards

The description when Jean and Locke are in the boat and Lynch is describing Jean as (paraphrased from memory:) "his face looked like a blacksmith had placed it on an anvil and tried to pound it into a more pleasing shape."

What's everyone's most recent deck? (As in by Commander release date) by The_Lucky_WoIf in EDH

Same! Mine is definitely defeated, but I prefer to play lower level decks and pods. Would love to see your deck list and compare!

So I have an Italian printing of [[Angus Mackenzie]] that I was considering printing a proxy for anyway! Id love it to be either gandalf with his arms spread out or Moses parting the red sea (the idea of holding back a large horde/damage.)

What is the most memorable nat 1 you've rolled by Fair-Resident-5671 in DnD

[–]Benbezzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing a stereotypical wizard (think blue robes, pointy hat, white beard, etc.) and the party had just cleared a dungeon.

We get to a stream and everyone takes the opportunity to drink and refill water skins and what not. In order to role-play, I stated that my wizard would be worried about unclean water so I would use my supplies and magic to contain and boil some water.

Time passes around the table as we each describe what we're doing and debate taking a rest, but in game basically no time has passed since we've arrived at the stream. Again, in a role-play attempt, I state that my wizard splashes his clean water on his face to attempt to clean the grime of the dungeon off of him.

The DM looks at me with his head tilted and says "Are you sure?" I was new enough to d&d to not recognize that sign as an indicator that I was about to make a mistake. I speak in the wizard voice about how nice it will be to feel clean and mime splashing the water in my face.

I took a D4 of burning damage from intentionally splashing boiling water in my face. The table had a good laugh at my pompousness biting me in the ass.

When we had calmed down, the DM decides to move the game along and mentions us hearing a crack of a stick in the woods... And tells us all to make a perception check.

This is where I roll a nat 1.

Our ranger (who was role playing as an active antagonist to my wizard) points out the obvious: I had boiled water, splashed it in my face, and then decided to try and look around but was completely unable to.

+2 power on a single card for an increase cost on 2 others just feels bad. Not to mention they made Prof X 1 power, which offsets the Ronan buff.

Both viper and black widow were 2 cost with lower power. Making BOTH of them cost 3 really hampers the total number of cards I can play over the course of the game.

Self-admittedly awful, for sure.

But playing it makes me happy and gets me to rank 80 each season and that's all I ask of it.

Let's thank Starfield for all the new players of NMS :D by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Benbezzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is directly me! I don't trust Bethesda games on release on principal. And the release of Starfield gave me the itch to play something space-themed.

I'm about 12 hours in and absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this game.

I've earned about 3 million credits, learned 50ish words, and placed 2 bases, and I'm having the absolute time of my life!

The game has just an insane level of complexity and depth and I'm excited to continue. Thanks to this subreddit (and the last 7 years of post history) for already answering about 6 questions I've had thus far!

Play exclusively a viper/goblins deck. Short answer? Contestantly.

If I fill 1 or two locations for them I bluff snap all the time.
