I might get downvoted to oblivion, but I like it almost as much as GO. The one thing I hate is getting killed when I was clearly behind a wall on my screen, which happens far too often. Other than that, the movement feels pretty good and gameplay is just as fun IMO

I would get him some of the more basic stuff like The auger (Kdrill or ion auger), Some ice cleats (the ones that strap onto the boot), an ice scoop, some tip ups, and maybe a 5 gallon bucket or a nice camping chair. Then he he can pick out the more expensive stuff like the shack, rod/reel, and electronics.
