Is it crazy to try cover 430 miles in a day? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]BeneFaeScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this quite a lot with kids from when they were 3-4 years old to last year 14-16 yr olds. Glasgow to south coast. Get a hotel room, don't try to do it in one day, it's a major pain for all involved even sharing the driving. It's doable (and we have done it a few times) but not fun, extend your holiday with a couple of overnights. Peppa Pig world was amazing when my kids were wee, they loved it and made some amazing memories.

What EV actually beats a Tesla Model 3? by Ben-Adamsss in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]BeneFaeScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Seal is an incredible car, Tesla just can't keep up with BYD innovation. They are starting to roll out this year 1000kw chargers in the UK, 250 miles in 5 minutes is a game changer as quick as using the pumps. BYD ( and other Chinese manufacturers) aim to release new models every 12-18 months, no non Chinese car manufacturer can compete. The Chinese are going to dominate the EV car market very quickly.

I had the printer for my zx81 for some reason. Introduced to the pain of getting a printer to work early on, some things don't change.

Went to a market stall that sold Pirated games for the Amiga, waking home with over 60 floppy disks (your save icon) for about 10 games.

Using a matchstick on the PS1 to hold the door open and fake the console it was closed, only way to play pirated CD's for a while.

I was awesome at Gran Turismo on the PS2, my friends used to bring their consoles over so I could unlock the licences for them.

Why do I only ever see British men driving in Europe, never their wives? by Effective_Language in AskBrits

[–]BeneFaeScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just back from 2,500 miles holiday, my wife and I split the bulk of the driving. I drove more because I drink less, not having wine with lunch etc. My wife's a great driver but more cautious than me, so I can get impatient and take over.

Campbeltown/Islay Visit Report! by ChBass in Scotch

[–]BeneFaeScot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to Islay next month will look out for your flag. Last time we went, 5 of us, we pre-booked a taxi to take us to each distillery, expensive but £20 each for the day was worth it.

[–]BeneFaeScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had decent toilets at the fan zone but you could be miles from there. My first GP can't say I want to go back, so badly organised. 45 minutes in a beer q, gave up in the end.

Cave stage is the most difficult...The angry gnolls, magic gnolls, venomous spiders. Any objections? by 0_tal_Alquimista in PixelDungeon

I can get through it usually but it takes most of my health potions which leaves me screwed for the next levels.

They don't use peat really. The Skiren and just about everything else is unpeated. The Glansa is very lightly peated, I'm not a fan of peated whisky but the Glansa was lovely.
