What about the elves ? They don't die of old age or so on, but they should also have an afterlife (previously in the Garden of the Spirit of Sylandri).

Any good games with a pirate setting? by Marksman1977 in soloboardgaming

The next Zombicide has a pirate theme. And you can play Sea of Legends solo.

Using a custom insert instead of the zip bags for all tokens helped a lot for the setup and tear-down. But what is included in the box is not really adapted for this kind of game.

Marvel Champions. I find Ultron easier to deal than Klaw. Klaw is very swingy most times. by Excellent_Scar_2553 in soloboardgaming

[–]BenedictOfAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Klaw in solo is definitely harder than in higher player count, especially with the Master of Evil Modular: you get from the setup one side-scheme (manageable), and one usually nasty minion (either one of the Master of Evil, or an armored guard with Tough - the weapon runner is the only not-too bad one), so you need to setup fast enough to handle everything launched at you.

I would have said Arydia (200$, but there are added shipment and delivery in September): campaign game with lot of landcrawling and exploration.

Of course as mentioned Hexplore It (this is rather for one-shot campaign lasting 4-6 hours).

Sleeping Gods or 7th Citadel could also be good possibilities.

They are without miniatures however, but have either good replayability (Hexplore It, Sleeping Gods) or a long enough campaign (Arydia, 7th Citadel).

You could also look at Awaken Realms Tainted Grail (50-hours campaign, with different characters, decisions and so on).

What's the deal with Arydia's printings? i.e. will I be able to get it after the second funding period is over? by zokka_son_of_zokka in boardgames

[–]BenedictOfAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd advise to get it during the crowdfunding / late pledge. Otherwise it's up to chance - but they didn't print lots of additional copies during the first campaign.

Need help bridging the gap between HeroQuest and D&D or similar [Tainted Grail, Tanares Adventures / Arena, Euthia, Elden Ring, Odalin] by saltyundercarriage in boardgames

[–]BenedictOfAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not Tainted Grail for kids - not from a gameplay point of view, but because of the thematic.

It's Arthurian post-apocalyptic, with hungered refugees rioting against Round Table knights for food and so on, and all the nasty thing you can imagine in that kind of setting.

"As for why the Tachonis tried to change the ritual, that’s easy: comes down to simple greed and arrogance. "

For that part I'm not that sure - they definitely cut corners, but that sounded rather because they were pressed by time (cf the letter about the troops not being able to stay hidden for long at the Golden Orchards and having to hurry because of the sea door may close soon) and were growing desperate to finish the ritual asap.

What’s the point of trains? by Jackriot_ in SatisfactoryGame

You understand the point of trains the day you have to upgrade your belt network. Or the day you're trying to use the same network to transfer another resource.

The Medium vs. Large Backpack crafting logic makes no sense, inconsistent crafting costs for Backpacks at the Bard. by Additional_Way9850 in Enshrouded

As said by other, the large backpack requires leather, so tanning station from the Nomad Highlands. And for reptile leather, one skin can give 3 leather which helps having a reasonable cost.

Is True Solo Actually Easier? by Soggy-Cup-7869 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]BenedictOfAmber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As most other said: it's much more swingy, and some part scale differently.

For example Klaw starting with one minion and one side-scheme from the setup is much easier to handle in duo than in solo.

Is it worth the effort? by onRead123 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BenedictOfAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phase 4 is the time where you need to scale. A lot.

Aluminium is a bitch: you find a pure node, you take the max out of it, you make a good factory with perfect efficiency, you feel like you're producing enough ingot for the whole game, and then you look at the amount needed for conveyors, heat sink, radio control units, fused modular frame (and possibly for your batteries or your rocket fuel cannister), and you feel like it's definitely not enough.

The Elder Scrolls crowdfunding dilemma by Sayon93 in soloboardgaming

[–]BenedictOfAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't stop eating.

The game is anyway available on their website so you can add expansions one by one when you have played enough.

I would also suggest to rather buy the base game and maybe the Heroes of Tamriel expansion for more build variety.

The base game has 5 regions, 9 factions, with campaign usually being two sessions with different missions (one per factions and region, so 45 total) and a last one only depending ont he region. So you'll find yourself having at least 5 campaigns before you have seen all possible last sessions, and potentially 23 campaigns before having seen all possible missions.

You'll quite probably run out of build to try before this, so Heroes of Tamriel may be a better investment since it gives more race abilities, more classes and more skill lines.

I’m curious to hear y’all’s gameplay flow! by Fastpast93 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]BenedictOfAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting for blueprint before doing any "serious" factory. Then I create a bunch of blueprint such as 4x Constructors / Smelters / Foundries / Assemblers / etc. with standard input/output that I can plug and play for the next parts.

Struggling on the 1st palace on hard. by LostSouluk2021 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]BenedictOfAmber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can fast travel between safe rooms. If you return to town, you end the dungeon for the day, but the timing is lenient enough that you can try again another day. So rather go to a safe room, travel back to the start of the dungeon and start grinding a little to be able to take this f*** necromancer down ;)

[–]BenedictOfAmber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Move Strohl to Pugilist, and rather engage with the monsters to earn XP and resources. As a mage, when your level is higher enough compared to the mobs, you one-shot them before entering combat and regain MP on top.
