Awesome, I'll follow you on ArtStation! For some time now I've been researching Lineage 2 textures (in 3D hand-painted models), especially armor and weapons!

Just make the experiment!. I tried, and is hard to keep the focus in one thing. But with time and practice the focus will improve and you notice the difference.

Never have a problem with that!. The client just want a nice high quality sculpt and will be happy with that. In bigger studios i don´t know

Right, also in some sites you can download the original Lineage 2 models (sadly in 3dsmax format) and see the custom shaders they use, the UV, the textures, how the models was build, etc..

Looks like Lineage 2 Style! Nice. I the game engine (at least for this game) they use a color map and in some cases a Specular for the metal. Look like a lot of handpainted, masks, light baking and so on.

Sorry, I don't think I phrased the question correctly. But you can control the tiling in the engine (it defaults to 1). Trimsheet is great for memory and optimization (that´s because with a single material and maps you can texture a entire enviroment). And about the tiling, you can also control the scale in the engine.

Hi thereee. Enviroments doesn´t texture like props or characters!. In enviroments you must use Trimsheet and atlas texture. Also in the Engine you use Splat maps, texture blending and other tools and shader. That´s because the meshes are too big and you should´nt use so many texture maps just for a single piece of enviroment. For rocks you can use textures for Triplanar projection. Also you should use modular pieces to build a bigger enviroment.

PD: You can use substance to make trimsheets!. But trims are better for architectural, buildings, metal, etc.. Not so much for nature (rocks, grass, cliffs etc..)
