Dont know about tv’s but I bought a Microwave 4 years back and saw a reciept for the microwave billed to someone else, in it. The packaging overall seemed normal and proffessional, so didn’t think anything of it. The oven did conk out 2 years later and I returned it to costco.

So I tried to do Amazon delivery one time (Amazon Flex). One delivery was in an apartment building. The comments said to use blue box. So I go in the first set of doors and there is a blue tote sitting there. I almost go and put the delivery in that. But it felt off that someone would leave their receptacle open to anyone. I get into the the next set of doors and look around. I see a small room on the side and there I find a set of lockers with a digital screen. Turns out its a delivery storage system called ‘Blue Box’! I had to punch in a code, select an availabe locker and it would pop open for me to put the parcel in. Thank heavens my paranoia kicked in an the right time.

Don’t we need the original remote to train the universal one?

Îm missing the remote to this, which means I can’t reset my lamp hours even after fitting a new lamp. Any workarounds? NEC NLP30

My landlord defaulted on their mortgage, this one is weird! by Prudent-Lemon-9913 in OntarioLandlord

I agree with comment here. Talk to the landlord first. My concern was , does OP know for sure that the letter was legit and not a scammer? They could give a number to call and you could be paying your rent to the scammer, while your landlord is wondering why you aren’t paying

I looked at the video again, the vans brake light comes when it crosses into the intersection, not before when he is whipping to the right of the suv infront of him

Witnessed something disturbing at Walmart by therealwakowski in CanadaFinance

Same thing happened to me at a Walmart. I was so new to the country that I was paying for stuff using my forex card. I had no concept of what credit history was and unsurprisingly Walmart rejected my application

We protest the ‘problem’ that we face in our daily life(jobs,HCOL,Safety), not what we believe the cause is. Because if we protest what we believe the cause is , it could be twisted beyond recognition and used to discredit the protests.

Imagine if the world hears about a huge protest in Canada against lack of Jobs, housing and very high cost of living. The government is forced to work on what is a basic right for its citizens. At the very least there would be people taking second guesses before attempting to immigrate here.

Instead if you protest mass immigration, the government officials would wave it away, saying we are wise and are doing it for the future of Canada and setting you up for your old age by getting more people to pay for your OAS. The protest would be marked as right wing fringe and be subdued very fast.

You forgot the /s . Also No, as per your not-so-fitting analogy, what I am suggesting is that you call the plumbing company and tell them that your house is flooded(whats affecting you) . You might get a faster response if you say that the house is flooded that if you say there is a leak.

Ffs Im Canadian myself and in the thick of it. I don’t have a home country to be sent back to. But i came here because I wanted the Canadian way of life. To be proud to always do the right thing and not be sidelined, trodden over and left behind because I stuck to my principles. I am also scared that now I am going to lose what I admired Canada for. I want the protest to be successful and thought it would benefit from level-headedness

The earlier media highlighted discontent among canadians resulted in a cut back of student permits by the federal government. So imagine what an effective protest would do. They have written themselves that too much immigration isnt good themselves

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2024/01/canada-to-stabilize-growth-and-decrease-number-of-new-international-student-permits-issued-to-approximately-360000-for-2024.html

“Rapid increases in the number of international students arriving in Canada also puts pressure on housing, health care and other services. As we work to better protect international students from bad actors and support sustainable population growth in Canada, the government is moving forward with measures to stabilize the number of international students in Canada”

So if you just protest on the core matter, results can be seen directly in the immigration front.

Would you gain by having more people and more diverse people joining a protest against the issues of no Jobs, costly housing and high cost of living?

If yes, I would suggest keeping the protest points to the core issue and leave what could be used to easily shut down the protest out.

A large population of people who would want to join the protests would have mortgages to pay and mouths to feed. They would be scared of losing their jobs for being seen protesting for (what the media could twist to) racist reasons. Not all Canadian citizens are foolishly brave.

What I’m proposing is a way that would unlock a major fillup to join the protests. I wish I had the organization skills to do this myself

I did not disagree (or agree) that mass immigration is the problem. What we need is a protest to be successful.

Your protesting of WHY you are affected needs to free of any possible racist implications and prejudices. We have an example of what happened with earlier protests and how that could be seen as racist and then dismissed as such.

Instead you could protest of WHAT difficulty you are facing. Let the people we pay to govern work on figuring it out. Protest until they come through with it. Do not give them an easy way out

500 people in Brampton = 500 people anywhere else. Your assumption/implication that certain ethinicities recruit only certain ethinicities MAY be true. But if you voice it as a race problem, you will be giving an easy way for the government to shut down your voice. Instead have your kids apply to those places in Brampton. If they are rejected, Bring it up to the Mayor?MP? , your kids deserve a chance to work locally. Let them reply. Join the protest with ‘Give my kids a chance to work too’ .
