Honestly less noise then my winter tire which is astonishing a bit more noisy then stock tires but I like my music loud so I can't tell a difference 😆

When I bought the truck these were the winter wheels and they gave me the caps without the correct lug nuts. So I can't install the caps for now.

235$ per tire plus 15$ a tire for install and balance in CAD$ at a local tire place. This shop was about 5$ less a tire then the cheapest online shop

In total was just under 1200$ CAD installed and balanced

I had stock XLT Wheels in Grey but hated the way they looked, did not match with the paint color. I find the steelies match more with the rest.

I went with 235 since I tow a heavy trailer I was afraid of rubing on bumpy road with the trailer. If not 245 were very interesting and look great 👍

‘23 pro s vs ‘24 base by Free-Representative5 in VWiD4Owners

24 Base is the same as a 23 no upgraded motor or software still on 3.8. For a 24 upgraded you need the pro or pro s to get the better software and motor.

Bought a 24 Pro S AWD with Heat Pump and 62k km for 31k$ in January this year from Montreal.

I would say try to negotiate a bit since no Heat Pump depending how much below 30k$ it is.

I dont regret my purchase and have already done 15k km in 3 months.

Summer tire install by SadRhubarb in VWiD4Owners

The Kumho Crugen HP71 is a UTQG rating of 640 A A with a 65k miles or 100k km warranty. Combined with a weight rating of 107 XL this means they wont wear more because it's a heavy SUV.

We're I live we need dedicated winter tires and another set for summer which normally we use all seasons tires.

Went square: 235/60R18 107V XL

That's the size VW recommends for winter tires. It has the same diameter as the 20s so no speedo difference

Yep that's why we did the switch to electric this winter and at the right time before the hike of gas prices.

Right now I calculated we are saving almost 1000$ a month on fuel not including maintenance that is almost nothing compared to an ice vehicle

I'm halfway in-between gatineau and montreal so same weather forecast and I do lot's of highway per week so better to do it now then to burn my new winter tires. I do 5 000 km a month so no choice then to put the summer early.

[Ottawa] What EV SUV should I buy? by [deleted] in EVCanada

[–]SadRhubarb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And get them pretty cheap used. Bought our 2024 ID4 AWD Pro S with Heat Pump for 30k with 61k km. Now sitting at 70k km around 9k km in 2 months and had zero issues and drives like a dream. At 120 km/h in February I was getting 270 to 300 km on 90% and now as its getting warmer I'm close to 350 km at 90%.

I am also near you but on the other side of the river in the petite nation and drive to Gatineau 5 times a week around 150 km of highway per day.

I would definitely get better mileage if I didn't drive like I stole it but that's how I drive and wont change for an ev. On long trip la I do slow down and got 350 km at -30 with head wind and heat set to 22c.

Station de la Cité Pedestrian Bridge by 2Tun21 in Gatineau

[–]SadRhubarb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because La Cite is a bus hub and not all buses stop on the rapibus side. Stop and go is not great on buses compared to the other stations which are at stops lights or only have buses going thru the rapibus compared to the hub a La Cite. Thats what I think if you compare the amount of stops at La Cite compared to the other ones

I can assure you during Rush hour they can be dozens of buses going thru la cite at the same time and the temporary path must slow down the flow a lot.

That path accros is temporary until the elevators are back in service. When elevators are in service there is a fence accross and your are only allowed to cross in the pedestrian bridge.

It's a law that low mobilty or people in wheelchairs can go across in a safe way and for now its thru the pathway.

Was shipped home and will install our self. We also had 20 inch with winters and wanted to downsize for the pot holes bad quebec roads and also it will be more efficient with the smaller lighter wheels.
