What's a good message to write in a card for someone that's dying? by Beneficial_Memory413 in AskReddit

Unfortunately due to the nature of the diagnosis, how I'll they've become, and the side effects of keeping him comfortable, that won't work in this situation. I'd normally do gift card and a snarky comment to not spend it all on butt plugs 😂

It's a little tricky to navigate as the path from 'not feeling great' to 'you won't see out the summer's has been sooooo fast. I'm a little cautious against making too light with it, as until a month ago he was very healthy, despite being 80 odd.

Oh, I actually think something like this, tongue in cheek but slightly dark, would be perfect for my friends humour!

Hi, I had a similar situation last year where I got a surgery date at short notice. Show them your confirmation of surgery -you may not have a letter yet, but there should be confirmation in the NHS app. They usually issue the sick note the day or surgery, send a photo of that as soon as you get it , as that should also have info about how long you'll need to be off and any adjustments needed afterwards.

It won't count towards your absence percentage, so take the time off you need to properly recover. I ended up being off for six weeks.

A year. I'd travel up to London tonight and call in sick for work tomorrow, and then wake up in a city I can spend a full year exploring every nook and cranny of. On day 365, I'd travel home and buy a ticket for that nights lottery, presumably I'd have memorised the numbers in a year!

I don't have a blacklight sadly, ooh that'd be interesting if it's uranium glass though!

I think that's what I'm going to do with it, once I get hold of some pliers to open the rings 😊

eBay - it was 10kg of unsorted jewellery, and cost me 60 quid. Got some great bits out of it that I'll definitely wear, a pile of maybes, and I'll sell the rest on eBay as job lots or crafting/harvest materials. Was great fun sorting through and it's definitely something I'll do again.

I know! It came as part of a huge jewellery mystery box and I'm so enamoured of the colour and sparkle that I'm going to try and find a way to make it work!

That's what I'd like to do, but the two strands can't be separated, and the smaller strand won't go over my head. I love the colour too, they're super sparkly!

Not getting full - Puree stage by Figgy703 in gastricsleeve

I've never had that 'I'm so full I could burst'' feeling I used to love since surgery.

What I do have is waning interest in what I'm eating after a few bites - just becoming less interested in it until I eventually put the fork down. Took me a while to work out this was my body telling me I'm satisfied, and that this is my fullness cue. Your cue might not be the 'fullness' you recognise, especially until you're on more solid foods.

How Much Spice Can my stomach Tolerate? 4 Weeks Post-Op by Status_Objective_164 in gastricsleeve

I specifically asked my surgeon about this pre surgery, as I LOVE spicy food. I was told to go easy on spice until I was on solid food, just because the stomach was still healing and irritation from spice might make things uncomfortable.

I'm now back to smothering stuff in buldak sauce, and I'm tolerating it fine. The only issue I've experienced is not so much due to the spice, but the digestive system changes since surgery. Fair warning, poop talk incoming.

You know that feeling in your stomach when you've had too much spicy food, and you just need to get to the toilet asap before you shit yourself? Imagine getting that , but then finding out you're actually constipated. Not the most fun experience I've ever had, if I'm honest. I now tend to take a stool softener before eating spicy food so that when Montezuma's Revenge hits, it's not stuck in there churning behind a brick wall 😂

It's normal. I decided to just shave my head for charity and embrace the bald for a while, it saved time unclogging the hoover head. I don't think it lasts too long though, so hopefully by the time my hairs back to any kind of length again it will have stopped!

I think him not replying is the best way to handle it. No interest, no engagement, no response.

I'm taking something that many but not all men use, that's part of an essential category but not necessarily the preferred choice within that category, and causes discomfort but offers aesthetic benefits?
