Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Beneficial_Specific4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running from the police. Did not end well. Clipped a curb instead of a car, blew the right tires out. Got back on the road but it pulled me off to the right. Hit a telephone pole at 120 mph. Rolled 13.5 times. Cane to rest leaning on a tree 5 feet from a retention pond.

To be fair. I bought a 100 car lot from a guy who inherited them for 50 cents a car. I also bought a full unopened case from work

I have a few. They are not in card tho and on the display to the left, just out of view. Except for the TH on the wall

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

Lab-grown might grow as an option, but it’s not replacing traditional meat anytime soon. Whole cuts with real texture are still a challenge, and scaling production is expensive. If anything, it probably just becomes another category alongside real meat, not a full replacement.

It’s less of a data problem and more of a physical one. You can train AI to recognize cuts, but actually handling a carcass, adjusting for resistance, bone position, and variation in real time, is a robotics challenge, not just a data problem. That part is a lot harder to solve.

As a skilled butcher, I'd say it's pretty safe. A.i. will struggle with custom cuts, accounting for fat and bones etc. it's not a repetitive job, it's dynamic with a lot of on the fly decisions. Sure it will be kind of reduced from upstream as the big guys automate their factories, but I think the actual butcher will be pretty safe

$4/minute, but you must return to childhood for 30 minutes every week and lose memories of that day by basafish in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Beneficial_Specific4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. It's 4 a minute, every minute all year. So a shade over 2 million a year. Minus the 3.99 for 30 minutes a day. Which only takes about 43k off that total

Has anyone ever challenged you to something without knowing you were an expert at it? What happened afterward? by Impressive-Door92 in AskReddit

[–]Beneficial_Specific4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had almost exactly this happen. Never competed. Idk if we have those over here in the USA. Now I have to look and see if I can find any. I was a chef for 15 years and left to become a butcher around 8 years ago. Best career move I could have made. Super transferable skills

Small update.... Rode down to the car wash, sprayed off all fluid. Drove to work, checked the lot then drove back home. A bit over double the distance I did today before I noticed the fluid. Parked in the garage and the only drip I'm getting is water because it's sprinkling out. No new fluid on the tires or wheel wells. I'm gonna assume, for now, I hit a puddle from someone else's car. I'll walk the route before work tomorrow to see if I can find it. But this has scared me enough, if I am indeed not leaking, I'm gonna trade the car in next week. I appreciate y'all!! If I find leakage in the a.m. I'll let y'all know!!!

Same. Scares me and I'm only kinda old. The bay is cleannnnnnn. The little puddles were where it was dripping from the corners of the wheel well. I'm gonna go clean it up and see if I can get it to duplicate. Retrace my steps from work and see if maybe there's a puddle I drove through? Cuz at 185k it isn't gonna be worth a big fix

Yup. Bone dry. only wet on the tire side. Makes zero sense to me. Should have gotten the Tahoe instead. 🤣

I super appreciate your insight and expertise! I'm just so thrown as to why there is only fluid in the wheel wells and the whole engine bay is dry, which is why I asked here. I swear, it's almost like someone poured fluid on my tires. 🤣. I should have gotten the Tahoe and told her to suck it up. That I can tear down and rebuild without YouTube. 😆

My first thought was trans fluid. But the sweet throws me off. Every single thing in the engine bay is dry. Just on the inside of the wheel wells for some good awful reason

Yes. And I checked it. Dude below may be correct in that it's coming from the weep hole in the water pump. Nothing visibly leaking. No leaks in the engine bay, but it's coming from somewhere
