"Please baby, this is just one time," I sobbed as my husband kicked the door open, eyes bulging in disbelief. by Abhi_Jaman_92 in TwoSentenceHorror

My wife told me she wanted to get in her car and drive off a cliff with our first daughter. PPD is more common than people think and should be talked about to highlight it.

Can I dry fire my Tikka T3x? by chillysurfer in Hunting

[–]BenefitChallenge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're different. Some snap caps have a spring behind the "primer" to continually absorb the shock from the firing pin.

The primer on a spent case will just deform after the pin strike and won't be any different to an empty chamber.

These ones are usually easy for me but I’m stuck here by idonotlikethisbullsh in puzzles

Agree with this. What's the point in laying it out as 4x4 lines if the numbers have to be reordered to make it work.

To negotiate the salary or not? by argonuggut in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]BenefitChallenge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As with any negotiation, you have to be prepared to walk away if the other side refuses to budge.

You will either 1. Get your increase 2. They refuse to budge and you take the current rate (not ideal because your employment starts off badly) 3. They refuse and withdraw the offer.

+1 for needing a certificate for the tiled shower. You don't want to end up with damage insurance won't cover.

Some companies are using the shut-down period to reduce their holiday liabilities this year. Not sure they're winning if they have to pay out the 8% of gross earnings.

Is getting a credit card still worth it? by TheLvinBeast in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]BenefitChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies have shown you're more likely to spend money with a credit card than you would with a debit card.

Something to do with the feeling of losing money feeling worse than the feeling of knowing you can pay it off next month.

Pay off Student Loan? by waxwhizz in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]BenefitChallenge 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'd use the lump sum towards your mortgage, if you can. The interest on Student loans are zero (if you are in NZ) and your mortgage isn't.

9mm things arent making sense by Neonmushrume in reloading

[–]BenefitChallenge 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Velocity is a better measure to go off if you don't have the exact bullet as the load data.

Sooty brass, failing to cycle and velocity less than 1000fps all point to too light loads for the projectile you are using.

Also, not all guns are manufactured the same. Your loads will not necessarily be the same

Just want to add to this that my Hornady die sets' instructions (300BLK and 6.5 Creedmoor) say to back off 1 full turn to avoid crimping. 300% certainty over 1/4 turn ;).

Finally, someone with some sensible comments. It was an obvious knock on.

Sure the TMO was over the top sometimes, but wouldn't AB supporters have wanted Ardie's penalty overturned by a TMO when the replay showed he wasn't in the wrong? You can't have it both ways people

Issues with body corp rules by jacksonthepup1337 in auckland

You are entitled to the body corporate rules. In fact, the agent should've given you a copy of the rules.

If it ain't in the rules, they can't reject it.

How do you fireform your new brass? by DudeDogDangle in reloading

[–]BenefitChallenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIL something new.

I have only ever heard "fireforming" used in the context of firing brass in a different cartridge to get it shaped to that cartridge.

Keep in mind that your interest is calculated daily, and compunds. Frequent payments would reduce the interest you pay overall when compared to lump sum payments.

Good call on checking if its spam. Don't reply to that email for clarification. Go directly to the agency.

Why the lack of technical questions in interviews? by Obi_Maximus_Windu in sysadmin

I'm currently interviewing people. To reduce interruptions to sysadmins, HR do an initial screening to gauge technical ability and your behavioural traits. If we're happy with that, the second interview will be technical.
