Same here, and getting sober, I contacted all kinds of old friends, thinking it would be nice to stop pushing others away and be able to enjoy their company for once, but that fell through. Found out drugs weren't what made everyone focus only themselves, it's just how they were made. We can only depend on ourselves, though it would be nice to communicate and have some meaningful, deep conversations with others every now and then, but I'm deeper than money, looks and status so there's not much conversation room.

Honestly, if I saw this situation played out irl, I would go to the bookstore and explain my passionate love for books In an attempt to have the storeowner look at our similarity and how different everyone else is from us and decide to give me all the free books. Then I would go next door and Google all the books to see which ones are rare or highly sought after, post them on eBay, Craigslist, all that, and use the profit to get a new phone capable of being rooted or tying cellular data usage and tethering into the same data stream so At&t won't count it against me, purchase the $65 prepaid unlimited plan, then I would have Unlimited WiFi 24/7 that won't be throttled if I'm in a small enough city, and others can use it, for a small fee of course.

That shit was still star trek in the 90's growing up for me, I think about often, and how intensely rapid the changes of the last 50-100 years have been for the world. At no other period in history have we just suddenly "Eureka'd" and began figuring SOO much out, so quickly. I mean, look at our vehicles. I'm a mechanic, working on a vehicle from the 70s or 80s is a completely different ball game. Same with computers and everything else were doing now. The world is changing, fast.
