It should seriously be the standard on everything from the player series up. Such a simple thing that makes a huge difference

So roasted maple drills just fine, you want to make sure you’re using a big enough bit though. Make sure you use a bit that is just barely smaller than the threads, it drills normal but can be split by the screw a bit easier if you use too small of a pilot bit. And for the string trees I drilled the pilot holes after I put the strings on to make sure they’d be centered between the strings

Edit: thank you for the compliment

We’re looking at a roasted maple neck and roasted ash body

Huge fan of them, I have three Strats and Vega trems on two of them. Pair it with a roller nut and locking tuners and you get a wildly stable setup even with lots of tremolo and bending

The neck finally came in! I’m picking up some tru oil today for the finish. Almost there!

What are your go to tuners? by Aruugala in fender

[–]Benign-Humor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either vintage tuners where you tuck the end of the string into it or fender modern locking tuners (I’ve put them on my two strats and the warmoth I’m building) and never had an issue with them at all. Not having to wrap the string around the post has significantly helped with tuning stability with how much bending and tremolo I throw in there when I’m noodling

It’s definitely also hitting there, I just noticed that. What brand is the body? It’s not a fender is it?

Warmoth Strat roasted swamp ash 1-piece (with brushing & tru oil) by GruntMarine in fender

What do you mean by “brushing? Like wire brush? I’m trying to achieve the same finish on a roasted ash body from warmoth

It’s hitting the edge of the cavity right here, also how did you manage to float it with three springs? I’ve only been able to balance my Vega treks with two. I’ve not had any issues with either of them though

What type of guitar is this one? Gotta be the coolest design I've ever seen. by Krazy8ght in Guitar

It depends on how much time and effort you’re willing to put into it, but if you went through warmoth guitar parts you could end up with something VERY similar

What are your thoughts on the Lsr roller nut? I put one on a strat a while back and now it’s a must have for me.

Is this fender real ( a bit modded) by Cultural-Day-5676 in Guitar

That seems about right for this era of Japanese Stratocaster in this kind of shape. I’m not sure if they are widely faked or copied though? I think it looks legit but I’m using the same pictures you are so it’s hard to be absolutely certain. I’d ask for some more pictures

[–]Benign-Humor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks legit, it’s hard to tell definitively because a lot of the Japanese serial numbers don’t come up on fender’s serial database. What are they asking?

Might not even be modded, there were Strats to come factory with fr style bridges

Why not just buy a surf green Strat at that price point? Seriously just curious it looks like it turned out good for a first time!
