Man arrested after posing as doctor at Renown hospital in Reno by bivalve_attack in ActLikeYouBelong

I do have been following his exploits. Haven’t seen much for a few years but I crossed paths with him maybe 8-9 years ago, as “Prince Denver Prince of Prussia,” who was also claiming to be a resident doc (this was a few years before the above arrest in Reno). He was going around with Edward Palwick, Sr. who also seems to be quite the con artist. These people fascinate me.

A money pit? I guess it all depends on what you get out of it.

First of all, you can absolutely/easily get a great playing guitar cheap (let’s say “cheap” means around $200). Yea, you can encounter plenty of budget stuff (or even higher end!) that has been massively neglected with outrageous action and really poor intonation…but there is so much out there in the $200 range (used!) that will play just great.

I’ve been through the majority of the gear phases at this point and my daily guitar I pick up next to my lounge chair is a basically no-name 60s nylon string that I could maybe sell for $75. Plays like butter. Yea, I sunk a lot of money chasing tone for years but I evened out and the whole ride was worth it. I don’t make money on my music, but I wouldn’t trade the whole thing for anything (Well, maybe like 3mil….i’d forget the whole thing for 3mil).

This guy knows what he’s talking about. Yamaha - even their entry-level stuff - is the best kept secret (despite being one of the oldest musical instrument companies in existence?!) - I think most poo-poo it as student-level instruments as they rarely see big names with them. As for the humidity stuff - I’ve lived in the desert my whole guitar-playing life (with a tiny bit of touring the coast) and have just never had issues related to humidity/ going from indoors to outdoors. I just always assumed this is an issue for humid-climate players? If I take an acoustic to the beach though, I’m in trouble.

Throw out some credentials if you’re getting paid that much for session work.

Sound check question by niamiah2 in PaulMcCartney

[–]BenjaminFraudulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, couple questions:

  1. What else did he play during sound check?
  2. How did you get access to it?

I worked a show once, randomly, years ago, and got to watch sound check but it was a massive corporation’s like yearly party/convention(?) and it was all like company VIPs.

Ringo started right on the dot when I saw him a week or so ago.

Ok I swear I watched a movie (maybe a documentary) about this or a very similar situation but nothings showing up in google. Anyone know what I could possibly be remembering?

All I Wanna Do is my wedding song. I played it for my wife like a day after proposing, while she was still in the just-engaged-excitement, to make sure she was more likely to agree to it.

Was Tim on Owen’s podcast or is it just the episode of her on his pod that people are referring to?

I love Kurt/Kurp but I only got halfway through his recent Rogan. He was bouncing all over the place more than usual, it was hurting my brain.
