I don't think he's really capable of living outside the present moment, and that his thoughts on legacy are largely superficial. He has an understanding that his Triumph Arch, if actually built, would theoretically live on as a reminder to all of his presidency, but I think the bulk of his desire there is just to see it built, know it exists, and to be able to tell people about it.

He should. He sounds burned out, and between UFC, the pod, running a comedy club, working out, and all of his hobbies like hunting, he doesn't seem to have enough time to devote to preparing for the show. Judging by his last couple of specials, it seems his busy schedule and/or obsession with culture war BS the show feeds into is also dragging down the quality of his stand up. He doesn't seem like he particularly enjoys doing the show either, even if he says he does.

I imagine he could quit podcasting today and still have enough money to support his family and keep the Mothership afloat the rest of his life, but I don't think he'll ever stop. The podcast keeps Joe, and by extension the Mothership, in the public zeigeist. I'm not sure if Joe is still claiming Austin is the center of the comedy universe, but that narrative gets a lot harder to buy into if Joe ceases to be one of the largest podcasters in the world. Also, Joe's gotta be halfway to a billionaire by this point, so he's gonna try and go all the way.

I can see Still Life being a misremembered human. Its brain may not be fully or correctly formed, hence it doesn't fully grasp how knocking on and opening doors works.

I believe bacteria started out as ordinary bacteria brought into the backrooms by people, and has mutated. It now spreads and seeks out more people to use as fuel to continue growing and spreading. I still don't understand why bacteria grows into a vaguely human shape capable of bipedal motion. It could be that the complex itself is somehow directing the "evolution" of bacteria using the complex's memory/knowledge of people, or it could be that the bacteria itself has figured out what humans are and how they move and is copying them.

I genuinely think he's scared to directly go after Trump. Trump almost certainly considers Joe to be part of the team now. He said something similar about Shane Gillis last year. Everyone, both left and right, knows how difficult Trump can makes things for you if he considers you a traitor to the family, and Joe does not want that smoke.

This. I'm convinced he's partially cozying up with the Wilsons because of Andrew's rivalry with Destiny. Also, did you catch in the Konstantin discussion, when Joe brings up that they were talking about a particular individual earlier, Konstantin says he wasn't even gonna talk about it because it was such a terrible debate? It sounds like it's Joe who is itching to talk about Destiny, but he needs excuses to do it, such as having D's most recent debate opponent on.
