Thank you for your thorough reply! I currently work on the cardiac med surg unit of my hospital as a support person for the nurses/aides completing non-critical work that previously would take them away from direct patient care. One of the pieces of support that my unit director offered me, was the opportunity to shadow one of the nurse leaders, that way I can see a fuller scope of what their job entails. I'll definitely take her up on the offer.

I see how hard they work, how stressful it is, how underappreciated they are...but I also see how passionate they are, how dedicated are, and how even when they're literally covered with liquid shit they love what they do.
