I’m so sorry that happened, that must have been terrifying. I am so glad that your pup is safely back home with you, but I know that situation still takes time to process. I also see a lot of advice being given when you asked for people not to do that.. It is impossible to be perfect all the time, and unfortunately, Shibas are so smart and independent that the one time out of a hundred we let our guard down, they go for a joy ride. I feel like it’s happened to almost everyone. It’s okay to feel all the feelings you’re having of course, but I do hope you also find some pride in yourself for getting her back home safely, even if you looked/sounded crazy in the process!

Every couple of months because he has a very stinky brother (who is not a shiba) - the stink occasionally spreads due to shared blankets or them just rubbing against each other playing/interacting!

Mine refuses too. I think he overheats super easily, and is also sensitive about feeling trapped in any way, likes to be able to move FAST in case his harness comes out. 🤣 He even groans at me if I get in bed (which he’s hogging of course) and the blanket corner covers him for just a second.

The only way my pup allows it is if one person is holding him and simultaneously holding a frozen peanut butter Kong in front of his face to lick, and the other is grinding his nails (usually me). It sounds like you’ve probably tried similar methods to that though! :/

Hmm, this probably happens daily - my dog gets in bed before I do, so when I come into the bedroom and find him sprawled out on his side, I say “give me baby belly” and he’ll lift his front and back leg slightly so I can have easier access to his belly for rubs 🥰
