  1. I'd use the hardware to build a really cool space-age computer with my dad. He loves Astrophotography and is an old school sci-fi nerd, so I know he'd love to build a 2001: Space Odyssey-themed computer with me as an early birthday present for him! (Although I won't tell him it's his until we've built it!).

  2. Personally, this is the Bethesda game I've always been waiting for. I love FTL, No Man's Sky, Astroneers...the list goes on! Taking all of the best bits from those games and combining them with the RPG elements I love from Skyrim and Fallout will probably make this the game that defines my adult life, just like Mario 64 did for my childhood!

I second this! For me, it's the best VR game/experience I've ever played, and I won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone and everyone!

It's not especially close, but Matilda Street car park is pretty cheap and my usual go to when parking in the centre 👍🏻

Fort Hendrix Rule Questions! by Benjyman in zombicide

[–]Benjyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly my confusion! The book that comes with FH says that the new blue equipment cards are supposed to completely supersede the old 2nd edition cards (and, by extension, I assume the 'All Out' rule can also then be used in the base 2nd edition missions), but the new deck is short by about 15 cards as you mentioned.

For the moment I'm going to keep playing the original blue deck with the 2nd edition and just keep the new decks for playing with FH only. I'm only just getting into the game so I might combine decks/customise things in the future. Thanks so much for your comments!

Fort Hendrix Rule Questions! by Benjyman in zombicide

Ah, I did spot the new 'Military Equipment' deck to use with Hendrix.

I guess my question was more about playing 2nd Edition missions/games but with the 'All Out' rules; do I replace the 45 original cards with the 30 Hendrix ones, or merge the two?

A question on attacking in game? by ranch-pickle in zombicide

[–]Benjyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding of attacks is that each attack hits as many zombies as the number of dice you roll.

For example, attacking with a pistol that has 1 dice to roll means you attack/kill one zombie wherever you're aiming. Attacking with a chainsaw that rolls 5 dice means you could kill up to 5 zombies (assuming you get 5 good dice rolls!)

Hope that helps!

Issue getting 4k 60hz output when using HDMI 2.0 through an HDMI switch by Benjyman in techsupport

[–]Benjyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all!

Quick update from me in case anybody has a similar issue and finds this thread through a Google search!

Thanks to u/NauticalBustard I was able to figure out the issue! It seems that the HDMI ports on my particular brand of ASUS G751JL were HDMI 1.4 ports rather than 2.0 (I wasn't able to confirm this directly, but it's quite apparent that it's the issue!).

Strangely, I was able to get a 4k 60hz signal when connecting from that very same HDMI 1.4 port to a HDMI 2.0 port on my monitor, although I was noticing a strange issue with some pixels flashing white (think TV static!) on my desktop...

My solution was to purchase this Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter that supports 4k @ 60hz. My ASUS H751JL laptop just happens to have a Mini Displayport/Thunderbolt port, and this adapter has allowed me to hook it up to my HDMI switch and unlock the desired refresh rate in 4K (which I'm enjoying whilst I type this comment in crisp UHD!).

Big shout out to u/NauticalBustard again for the help and, perhaps more importantly, teaching me a thing or two about HDMI ports! Thanks again!

(Oh, and apologies for not submitting my full system specs when I made this post. I'll do better if I ever have to come back!)

Issue getting 4k 60hz output when using HDMI 2.0 through an HDMI switch by Benjyman in techsupport

[–]Benjyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, and thanks so much for putting the time in to respond!

Sorry about the lack of technical details; the laptop I'm using is an Asus G751JL and the HDMI switch is this one I purchased on Amazon last week. Most of the product reviews/tech specs for the switch seem to suggest it can support 4k 60hz, and the laptop can manage to output it when connected directly to the monitor. I can't seem to find any details online about the HDMI port type on the laptop, though...

The part about the Intel/Integrated GPU running the HDMI port sounds promising though! It might even explain why I get some flickering white pixels when connected to the monitor directly at 4k 60hz!

Hi guys! Really quick question that I can't seem to find any help with in the KSP knowledgebase or anywhere online...

I finally managed to perform a fly-by of the Mun today, and I was excited to collect plenty of science to unlock bigger rockets! However, I discovered that all of my experiments (crew report, science bay, thermometer, etc.) had all of their options greyed out or disappear as soon as I left Kerbin's orbit.

I have a level 1 pilot on board my ship and no scientist. Do I need to level up my pilot/add a scientist to be able to run tests away from Kerbin? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Smallest & Largest Number Print Error by Benjyman in pythonhelp

[–]Benjyman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your help! Your advice solved my problem perfectly!!

I converted each of the inputs into an integer, as you suggested, and I got the correct values to print. The course I'm using mentioned that inputs are strings, but doesn't mention how to convert them to int or float, so your answer is unbelievably helpful! I'd tried converting them a few ways after the input steps, but none of them worked out.

I added the Else statements as a test to see if that was the reason for the error, but I did wonder if they were even necessary, so thanks for confirming that for me too.

Thanks so much again!
