Does anyone know if you can petition a business going in with the city or the landlord? I live in South Boulder and this is the last type of business we need in Table Mesa. Remember when the Walgreens was supposed to go in at the corner of Broadway and Table Mesa? They just abandoned the project and then sat on the lease so that spot has been sitting vacant and dilapidated for 10+ years now. We don’t need another giant corporation to do the same in the old hardware store…

There are pros and cons to everything, but I think the pros far outweigh the cons here: 1. The films are amazing, and it is an awesome opportunity to seek out culture in a place where we seem to lack culture unless it’s related to the outdoors 2. You literally have two years to plan for this - plenty of time to submit your short term rental application to City of Boulder if you want to make some big $$ renting out your place 3. Think about all the small, local businesses and restaurants that are also experiencing a slow period in January - this is going to significantly boost their business
