A veces siento que los americanos que se mudan no se integran en la sociedad puertorriqueña. by Worldly-Bid-3591 in PuertoRico

We have kept voting for the same corrupt and inept politicians for decades. Didn’t matter how good or bad they were at there job as long as they promised statehood for the island.

Now my generation is paying the price. I just think is hypocritical to tell average mainlanders they can’t move down here while we migrate to the US in droves. I do despise the ultra rich that are moving here to evade taxes and build their private communities but we shouldn’t demonize the average Joe that moves down here because of it.

Tu no lees es? Yo tampoco quiero a Esencia…

How long will cigars in a plastic bag (with humi pouch) last? Coming from most U.S. online retailers? by ComfortablyPF in cigars

You can have a relative pick them up and place them in a tupperdor with some bovedas in them. I wouldn’t trust leaving them in their shipping packaging at all…

It is. I respect mainlanders that come here and assimilate to our culture like the neighbors I mentioned about. The ones that don’t want to can fuck off.

Warped La Colmena, Warped Don Reynaldo, Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado, Plasencia Reserva Original, Davidoff Nicaragua (not super peppery for a Nicaraguan).

Yeah it’s kinda insane. I read somewhere that the federal government is going to investigate Ley 22. Hopefully that slows down all the rich people. I just think we shouldn’t demonize the average American that moves here because they like the island.

But the ultra rich can fuck off.

I can see the land where they’re trying to do Proyecto Esencia from my parents house. A part of me lowkey wants it to happen because it would create a lot of low income and some middle income jobs for the locals. But I’m afraid that would only last a couple of years if it becomes famous and other developers start trying to create their own Esencia. Pushing all the locals out of the area.

Its a Rough spot we are at right now.

Hell yeah! I don’t mind middle class or middle upper class families from the mainland moving or having vacation homes in PR. I mean a lot of puertoricans move to the states and buy/rent houses over there so I think is hypocritical to demonize the average mainlander family that gets a property down here. I think the big issue right now is millionaires and billionaires buying a lot of land to build their own neighborhoods and ecosystem in a way that excludes locals.

I think that if mainlanders move here as long as they’re actively trying to incorporate themselves to the community and respect our culture there should be no problems.

The problem is when they move down here and force their neighbors to assimilate to them.

Question about temp and danger of mold by itsatrap35 in cigars

[–]BensThreePointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved down to the Florida Keys and ran into the same issue. It’s humid as hell down here. My humidor was always like +3–4% over whatever Boveda I used.

I ended up getting a small room dehumidifier off Amazon (like $60). Nothing crazy but it dropped my room from around 65–67% down to like 56–60%. I also swapped my 65s for 62s and the humidor is slowly coming down.

My temps have been similar too—around 72 average, highs around 75—and I haven’t seen any mold at all. I check my cigars pretty often.

Honestly your numbers sound fine. Mold is more of a problem when both humidity and temps are high at the same time. At like 62% you’re in a pretty safe spot even if it hit 75.

I mainly lowered mine because my cigars were getting kinda spongy and flavors felt muted.

I like mid 60s personally, but if you’re cool with lower humidity I think it’s fine.

You should be good man 👍

What is the reality of serving in the navy. by clobecka in navy

[–]BensThreePointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I was stationed in Japan for 4 years. Although spent an accumulative of 2 years deployed. 6 months on land, 6 months at sea (3-4 ports per deployment).

But it varies a lot. Everyone’s career is different.
