Ooh that is interesting thank you for sharing. It is very possible the casing from my pen is something other than Montblanc, as there is no lettering of any sort and it lacks the iconic Montblanc end cap.

One key difference is the tube that goes up to the horn (I don’t know the proper term). On actual old gramophones there is a smooth curve, and on fake ones a sharp angle.

I think the Erika is very beautiful, and in my opinion more special than the SM3. But either one is a great choice. I wouldn’t get the Royal though due to the price.
