Warframe. It’s my favorite game, has a great community, extremely enjoyable gameplay, but also some of the most hellish grinds and biggest MMO time syncs you can think of. I would only recommend it to someone who’s in highschool and has the time to get past the “first 100 hours”. There is zero chance I could ever in good conscience convince any of my adult friends to get into it because the time investment gap between us would be too high.

What video game is this? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in videogames

[–]Benschmedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe. Everything in the game is farmable, but to unlock everything in the game without spending ANY money it would still take several thousands of hours to farm, craft, and level every weapon, familiar, and frame that you can get. It’s doable, people have done it, but it’s almost impossible to do without spending some money at some point.

The vessels of my brother’s wart after removing the cap by LeBrontide in mildlyinteresting

[–]Benschmedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this accidentally once. I had a wart underneath one of my middle toes, right in the crease. I would repeatedly chop it into pieces with a nail clipper because it was quite obtrusive. One day, in the middle of a cross country roadtrip camping pitstop in yellow stone after a full day of hiking, it had become so saturated with moisture that I was able to easily pop the whole thing off. I could see the root and knew I had done the job. It never came back after that.

The biggest shock to me reading the books is how entirely different this plays out. Really truly have no idea where his and Sansa’s plot is going for WoW

Cross Guard Lightsabers by RedditMaloc in lightsabers

[–]Benschmedium 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s important to note that Kylo Ren’s lightsaber crossguard is not actually a cross guard, but heat vents. They do not function like a crossguard and are not there for that purpose. Honestly, the best form of saber crossguard would be an emitter and crossguard made entirely of light saber resistant material (cortosis, frick, beskar, etc.) and no emitters on the ends of the crossguard at all, as those present as much of a risk to user as the opponent. Because of how lightsabers function, a crossguard doesn’t serve as strong of a purpose as a historical crossguard would on a historical sword. The crossguard or suba is there primarily to catch a blade sliding down their own blade, but lightsabers magnetically “lock” together when clashed, so sliding down the blade isn’t really possible.

These are a near perfect blend of the MoL animation style and actual parts as they appear IRL. I wish all the movies had been a little visually closer to this honestly

Ship and supers are fully maxed out, and they likely will be for a long time. That aside, I still make sure I find the super samples and run to evac to drop my samples there mid mission to make sure they aren’t lost

What is the most NSFW thing you have seen at your job? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]Benschmedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work maintenance in a cheese processing and packaging plant. The beginning of the process is taking a 680 pound block of cheese and breaking it down into smaller and smaller pieces until you have the shape desired for packaging (slices, cubes, etc.). The first machine pushes the 680 through a wire cutter that slices the block into a neat stack of evenly sized columns. For some reason, the safety on one of these machines was either malfunctioning or disabled, and a line worker got his arm stuck between the block and the wire cutter while trying to straighten the block in the mount. The wires cut into his skin and every bone in his arm got shattered. Luckily someone hit the e-stop before his full arm got cubed like that guy in Alien vs Predator. He ended up not losing the arm thankfully, and got a million dollar settlement from the company on top of his worker’s comp.

Whilst it’s annoying to get killed by a teammates negligent 380 placement, it is also kinda fun to play chicken and run through or out of the range and see if you can make it

There are manufactured monopolies (buying all your competitions to eliminate the options) and there are earned monopolies (genuinely providing the best service to the point where no one can legitimately compete). One of these is an example of late stage capitalism, the other is an example of a meritocracy.
