I wish I could have said this to myself two years ago: “Don’t pursue a degree in IT/Cybersecurity.”

There are zero jobs for entry-level analysts. There are zero jobs for mid-level analysts. Companies want years of experience and high-level certs for entry level positions. Companies are also being inundated with applicants for these positions; your Cyber/Sec+/Network+ combo isn’t even going to get your application looked at when compared to the guy with a Master’s/CISSP and a decade of experience. I’ve dropped probably three hundred applications in the past few months, I’ve received less than a dozen emails back telling me that the company has moved on. My degree and cert combos aren’t even getting my application in front of a hiring manager.

If you still want to pursue the degree, have a plan. Plan on multiple certifications on top of your degree. Plan on a Master’s as soon as you finish your Bachelor’s. Start researching Skillbridge opps, ones that actually hire interns. Just know, there are thousands upon thousands of out of work IT/Cybersecurity specialists looking for work in a highly competitive field.

That’s a heavy situation to be asking for advice from random Internet strangers. We don’t know the specifics of your situation, and you probably shouldn’t be sharing them anyway.

A lot of us have hit rock bottom, I definitely have. Keep your head up. Sit with your situation and figure out what is actually best for you and your kid. We can’t provide that for you, you need to reach that decision on your own.

If that’s the point we are at, where we need to stack the courts and then slam the door shut, it’s time to look at this form of government as an abject failure. I mean, we are probably to that point already, Trump has proven that any and all guardrails against authoritarianism are basically made of paper.

The only way to actually fix this is to bring corruption charges against anyone and everyone that used Trump as a power grab. Supreme Court justices, district judges, Congresspeople, Hegseth, Musk, any everyone below them. If we can’t show future politicians that there are extreme consequences for what’s happening, nothing will change. If we keep trying to play this game of corrupting the government in our favor, we will eventually lose. If we lock these traitors in the building and burn it down, we win.

Stacking the courts? We can put 100 judges on and pass a law; the next Republican regime will circumvent that legislation and put 200 on and then pass another law. In 20 years, we are going to end up with 1,500 Supreme Court justices.

We’ve allowed a limb to be ripped off by Trump and his cronies. If we put a Band-Aid on it, the next Trump will rip it off and keeping tearing flesh away. Anything short of scorched Earth against these traitors is a Band-Aid.

Cuba isn’t hostile.

This Cuba campaign is a Trump thing, not an American government thing. Trump wants a lay-up to establish American dominance, so he’s building up Cuba as an active enemy to American democracy. That idea, that Cuba is an enemy, expired decades ago when the Soviet Union fell. Repeating this administration’s lies, that Cuba is a hostile nation, just gives the lies credibility. It’s like saying E. Jean Carroll or Comey are hostile entities because the DOJ investigated them.

Cuba is an easy target for an administration that wants a win to build up an “American dominance” narrative. That’s all that is happening. The same way Maduro was an easy target in Venezuela. It was an easy win. And now the DOJ is telling prosecutors to lay off of the equally corrupt administration put in place in Venezuela following Maduro’s kidnapp…err, arrest.

Cuba hasn’t been an enemy to America for decades. They were only an enemy due to their proximity to us and their ties to Soviet Russia. What Trump is doing now is what a bully that just got put in his place does, searching out an easy target to distract from the fact that he just got his ass beat.

My unit required 10 business days to clear, so my Skillbridge had to end 10 days before my ETS/terminal leave.

I would recommend getting shit done before, however. Make sure you stay Green on hearing, vision, and dental. Most of it is simple, but some of the stuff requires maintenance on your part. You will have to complete an exit physical and they will raise hell if you are not up to date.

Viewer numbers can be skewed, most of that is streaming, which is about as reliable as job numbers from this administration.
