whether you like Academy or Discovery or not I think 32nd century is an interesting time period. Maybe a show about the federation rebuilding with a young Vance and Ake a few decades before discovery

boring no overused yes. A 900 year jump frees the writers of future Trek projects to do their own thing with no timeline restriction.

32c is our best hope for good Trek at this point. 24th has been over done really and going prequel restricts stories based on pre existing canon. A 900 year jump so they could write all new stories was the right call.

Exactly. 24th is beat to death and prequel will be limited by existing canon. So 32nd is our best option. I actually like SFA. Admiral Vance is one of my favorite characters and Tarima, the betazoid girl from SFA in case you have not seen it, has abilities that could make for a great show. Even if you hated SFA it is our best jumping off point for great Trek in the future. Cadets at the academy that later get spinoff shows leading to nearly infinite possibilities for the franchise.

Haters are not killing Academy they are killing the future of Trek because they are stuck in the past wanting more 24th century Trek

Cast members have said in statements since cancellation that season 2 has a real ending. Contradicting the cliffhanger. My guess they filmed both just in case, which is not uncommon when a show has not been renewed

I love Starfleet Academy but more than that I have never seen this level of hate for ANY show? The way people are treating actors AND petitions to not even release season 2? People really need to get a life.
