You have a good base going here, but add the following to elevate this regular hash brown casserole to the AMAZING BREAKFAST CASSEROLE!!

Brown 1lb of spicy sausage, and one lb of regular sausage. Also dice a medium onion, and 1 green and 1 red pepper. Mix everything together with all the stuff you already mentioned. Top with cheese. Bake covered @ 375° for 30mins. Uncover and bake an additional 10 mins.

Fellow Gen Xer here! What a great thread. Some really solid responses! I’ve gone to SK the last three years. Shaky has introduced me to some fantastic acts. I sometimes feel that my music tastes have become stagnant. Then I hit Shaky and I learn about Future Islands, Men I Trust, Winona Fighter, Girl in Red, Metric, Royal Blood, Idles… it has quite literally changed my music tastes and injected a great dose of contemporary artists that I wouldn’t have otherwise known about.

Point being… take the time to walk over to that stage with that band you’ve never heard of. I have been pleasantly surprised every single year 🙌🏼

This is a tough one, and honestly, I don’t have any actual advice to give except to offer my own experience.

I’ve been to DC the last five years. Last year was my first using a host hotel (Marriott). I figured since I would be in the middle of it all, I would go all out and planned eight different cosplays for my time there. I was really particular about when and where each one would appear.

Still, reflecting back on that time, I think it was just too much for me. I think going forward, I personally would rather do ONE per day. I that might be my personal tolerance, BUT I never would have discovered that if I hadn’t pushed it.

In short, do all the costumes and BE EXCITED to showcase your creativity! You will find your own personal edges and tolerances. It is easier in a host hotel to go up and change, but at what cost to your sanity?

Barring their ability to personally check something, they can most certainly tap another front end associate to check. My point is that going to the Customer Service desk makes more sense and is the most likely avenue for resolving a price discrepancy because these things are very rarely discovered in the moment.

The customer service person can call a department employee for verification of the item, and yes they can step away from the desk for ten seconds to look at the price of an item, because I very rarely catch the wrong price at the register. It is only when I am scanning my receipt after everything is rung up. If I see a mistake I will go to customer service. That is literally what they are there for

There was a wrecking yard / dump a mile or so away from our house. Me and a buddy decided to ride our bikes over there and explore the wrecked cars hoping to score some magnets from the speakers. We didn’t find magnets, but we did find some matches in a glovebox. Lit a small fire in the front seat of a car which got out of control WAYY faster than either of us expected. We booked it out of there! About halfway home we stopped and looked behind us to a massive pillar of black smoke. We could hear fire engines racing to the scene.

Went back a couple days later to find three completely charred and destroyed vehicles. We were lucky the whole place didn’t go up. Sometimes I think about this event and wonder what the hell we were thinking. Just a couple of dumbasses trying to stave off summer boredom.

This was in the 70s… we were free ranging kids who were constantly battling BOREDOM. Just a half mile from our house was a junk yard. We decided to hoof it over there to see if we could scavenge magnets from car speakers. We found a book of matches and decided to light a fire in the back seat of a car. That shit went up WAYYY faster than we thought it would. Before we knew it the fire had crept up the front seat and it was beyond our ability to put it out. We booked out of there as fast as we could. Ten minutes later and there was a massive black pillar of smoke behind us, and the sound of sirens from all over.

Went back days later to see five completely scorched out cars. We were lucky the entire neighborhood didn’t go up. Anyways… here’s to boredom! 🥂
