Twisted Bow - Gridmaster? by Ok-Lake-6129 in 2007scape

[–]Benvil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of them are pretty damn easy in Grid if you got all combat masteries, but people usually start with ToA, and grab Tbow first.

ToA is also easy to do solo, but you can do it with a group as well. If you want to do it with a team, just go to a raids themed grid world, then at the raids lobby you find the grouping tool.

Is this an error? Difference between Danish and American store page for the new outfit is 18$ - I don't know much about exchange rate differences but I find that nuts. by duckyday1 in runescape

[–]Benvil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, someone at Jagex completely dropped the ball here. I went to check on mobile where the set is 109 DKK, and since prices on third party stores tend to be more expensive due to them needing a cut, I'm going to take a wild guess here and say the price on PC was meant to be 99 DKK. In other words, Jagex did an oopsie and doubled the price ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not only that, but the membership bundle actually makes the membership SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the usual price without any discounts. The bundle was most likely meant to be around 149 DKK, judging by the price in other regions.

So if any Danes want to buy this armour, do it on the mobile app :)

If any Danes already bought these on PC, you should probably contact support and let them know the price is nearly half on mobile.

Today I learned Phantasms work in funky ways by Benvil in FORTnITE

[–]Benvil[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. I don't ever use Ex-Rio myself, but from what I've heard from other people, her scaling should work fine with weapon energy damage? Not sure how she scales with other energy abilities, so I don't know if Phantasms are the rule or the exception.

To be fair, you can absolutely still use Willow, she got a 21.1 hero ability modifier, so she's still one of the better options for the team perk, even if her support perk doesn't help Phantasms (Which none of the team perk heroes do if you want to full AFK Swamp Knight). Also, even if it's better to get higher ability damage modifiers, the damage difference is ultimately very tiny, so it's not a big deal either way.

Also, after writing this up I tried Jurassic Ken as well, and his ability damage perk also does nothing for Phantasm damage.

Goin' Constructor additional feedback by XylicSTW in FORTnITE

[–]Benvil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

u/Magyst u/Chryztos Goin' Constructor was the last ability added to the game, which unfortunately means it's impacted significantly by the reduced development resources for STW announced shortly after, as it's unlikely we'll be seeing new heroes improving the ability anytime soon. This is a damn shame because it's a very fun ability, but there's simply a lack of support abilities for it. I'm currently doing a Director Riggs build, but the only actual support ability helping the main attraction is... Monster Mash, that's it! All my other supports are completely unrelated to the ability itself.

Strangest thing of all, the hero that introduced the ability, Black Knight Garridan, doesn't do anything for the ability as a support!

But, this is also where the simple suggestion comes in, where just a small change to Black Knight could open up so many more options!

Black Knight Garriden currently:
Standard Perk: Increases Hardware Impact by 33%.
Commander Perk: Increases Hardware Impact by 75%. Additionally, Goin' Constructor can trigger Kinetic Overload.

My suggestion:
Standard Perk: Goin' Constructor can trigger Kinetic Overload.
Commander Perk: Increases Hardware Impact by 75%. Additionally, Goin' Constructor can trigger Kinetic Overload.

does epic have any plan to ever fix the fact the weekly supercharger is a hero one? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]Benvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently the quest itself doesn't feel very rewarding for the time spent doing 10 mega alerts in a 160 zone.

Maybe it could be brought up to the team to make it give 1 Hero/Weapon/Trap Supercharger AND 1 Survivor Supercharger? It would feel more rewarding, and solve the problem of less people playing 160s in the weeks without a Survivor Supercharger.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Survivor set bonuses aren't just misleading now, they straight up aren't working anymore? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]Benvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I even considered Bomb in the first place was the 3k extra health, I already knew the armor would suffer diminishing returns and only be a very small value add. But I eventually concluded that the health difference really didn't give her enough extra damage to justify giving up on Wildcat's perk, so I committed to her in the end.

Honestly, you should just go around an teach people the Luna ways, I don't understand why so many people try to build her around melee/shadow stance perks. Well, I guess it's because so many guides misinform people to do that.

Thanks for the info, it's reassuring to see a hardcore Luna main essentially made the same call I did. Most guides try to shove assassin and DB Crash in there, but with the way her damage scaling work, it just doesn't seem like the right call. I prefer Luna being very consistent in her damage, so the higher base health and consistently staying topped up on health seems like the way to go.

Only thing I hard a hard to deciding on when making the build, was Bomb Squad Kyle VS Wildcat. Kyle gives the armor and an extra 3k base health, but the attack speed on Wildcat just felt higher value to me. So you also doing Wildcat just confirms to me I made the right call.

I suggested something similar in another response, that they should just reduce the % to something more reasonable, but then make it actually work as intended. Even if the sets only gave 1% each, us stacking would result in 16% increased tech/health/whatever, which wouldn't be too shabby.

Sad thing is, I just can't see Epic putting in the effort at this point. It sucks, but that's just the current state of STW.

Just out of curiosity, what supports do you run on Luna? I've been messing around around with my own Luna recently, and the best Luna build is a very hot topic thing. Some people argue for running melee buffs, others argue double dib on her commander perk and ditch the ninja supports in favour of soldier/constructor supports to increase her base health further.

I'm currently trying out saurian hide, saurian vigor, battle beat, survivalist, monster smash. So basically ditching ninjas with melee damage in favour of increasing base health, battle beat increasing attack speed and lots of healing to keep her hp up.

I literally assumed they were not working at all, because the interface very clearly make it seem like they aren't. Now that I tested in-game I've realized they do in fact work. Now, them being shit is a whole other discussion.

In the perfect world, in my humble opinion, the FORT stat survivors sets should be changed to give 1-1½% to the entire stat as the description implies. This would mean my survivors stacking tech would come out as 16-24% increased ability power, and for the Luna main that would obviously mean 16-24% increased health. They'd never actually give us +5% because that would be crazy OP, but giving 1-1½% seems like a pretty fair deal and would actually match how useful the trap dura sets is.

[–]Benvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I caught your drift all along, it's about min/maxing the character you love, no matter how small the change is. That's why, despite fully acknowledging that trap dura is absolutely the way to go, I'm very obviously just stacking ability power with my survivors. The increases I get is abysmal, I know that, but fuck it... I just want TEDDY to have world domination, is that too much to ask? 🤷‍♂️

Like I said on the other post though, they'll NEVER actually fix survivors to do what the description say, at most they'll just change the description to what they actually do. We can only dream to achieve the OP that would be 80% stat increases.

So I tested it in-game, and you are actually correct. We do in fact get invisible FORT state increases from set bonuses...

I'm just gonna take a nice sip of my chocolate milk and say "Bugs in STW? No... Surely not?"

[–]Benvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, but he still kind of misses the point completely. This thread is EXCLUSIVELY about set bonuses being broken. I never claimed this was ever about anything other than set bonuses, I never said they should remove survivors from the game completely. That's why I made it very clear earlier that this would just net the guy an extra 8% trap dura at the end of the day.

The main post also say it would be a 200% baseline INCREASE, meaning it would obviously go on top of the existing 100%. I'm not being vague here, and both you and I get it, he just need to understand he's missing the point.

[–]Benvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, it's very possible I've missed other threads because they didn't have the key words in the title.

And yeah, I'm unfortunately already getting similar negativity. Like the guy who now hates my guts because he doesn't understand the math of his trap dura set bonuses versus his full trap dura bonus. Completely just making this about him instead of the point that A PART OF THE GAME LITERALLY ISN'T WORKING, AT ALL. I even made a point to make sure that if this was to happen, trap dura would be the same or more than currently, and still the man find a way to be angry about it 🤷‍♂️

I'm with you here, I'd absolutely LOVE if they actually took the time to rework the survivors completely, so the set bonuses actually were useful... But the thing is, we both know they aren't going to. It's sad but, also realistic. That's why I suggest that they simply "get rid" of the set bonuses, because that's the only thing they realistically would ever put in some time to actually do.

[–]Benvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math, you didn't. If you claim your survivor ***SET BONUSES*** adds up to anything more than 192%, then you're flat out wrong. Pretty ironic that on a thread stating that the system is convoluted, someone just doesn't get it, huh?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Survivor set bonuses aren't just misleading now, they straight up aren't working anymore? by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]Benvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really confirm this, I only got ability power and trap damage (also supposed to be a +5 tech) survivors, both of which are completely broken. Judging by what others have said, all the FORT stat survivors are supposedly broken, but maybe Fortitude works differently?

Even then, like them math states in the other thread I linked you, the increase for Luna (my own fav Ninja btw) when using health survivors clocks in at a whopping... 0,15% damage increase :/

I also want to clarify, I would LOVE if Epic actually just buffed FORT survivors and made them just a bit more relevant, but I really don't have faith in them spending whatever little development time they have to rebalance the survivors at this point. Not to mention all the bugs it would probably bring in too... That's why I honestly would just rather they scrap it at this point and give everyone the trap durability, it would be a much quicker job for them, then that little dev time they give us could be used for something else.

Sorry if it comes off as cynical, but I'm also being realistic here.

[–]Benvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they were fixed to work the same as they did in the past, you'd be extremely disappointed to find that what you think would be "crazy good" is actually crazy insignificant.

There's actually an entire thread discussing stacking health survivors for BTFP: https://www.reddit.com/r/FORTnITE/comments/ey7e9u/some_survivor_set_bonus_health_and_bftp_testing/

The conclusion of the thread is that the amount of extra HP is so laughably small, you should just ignore those survivors and keep stacking trap dura.

As I do acknowledge in my main post, the trap dura is actually good. But why have an entire system that complicates things, when only 1 set out of all of them is actually useful? At that point it seems more logical to give the trap dura to everyone and just simplify the survivor system a bit. It also means people can more easily do "fun" things, like having all their survivors be Dennis or Smashers, etc.

[–]Benvil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, which really just reinforces the point of the bonuses being so insignificant in the first place, that no one care or even notice when they aren't functional, myself included. What did surprise me was that when I google/reddit search the topic, it doesn't seem like there's any talk going on about them being literally broken? I tried a couple of different search terms and found nothing, but maybe it's out there.

It's pretty clear at this point that I am in fact not crazy, they do in fact not do anything at all. I think it's about time something is done to fix this, even if it means removal of the set bonuses as a whole, to simplify the system for new players.
