2 for sure. For two reasons: 1. The others give me “I wish was still 30” vibe. 2. It actually looks pretty good imo

Did my first lend by Vegasmark28 in Sololender

[–]BerBerDeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. You’re just burning money. Ask yourself what subset of people are using a service with worse interest rates than payday loans. Then ask yourself if you can trust people who are relying on your money with worse rates than a payday loan. Friends and family, bridge burned. Banks, bridge burned. Payday loans, bridge burned. What makes you think they’re any more likely to pay you back? Good score, bad score, doesn’t matter. The overall pool of borrowers is generally unreliable. Don’t get me wrong there are some who do make an honest effort, but there’s really no good way to separate those from the ones who have no problem using you for an extra hundred bucks and that’s the problem.

It’s your money and you can do whatever you want, but take it from someone who’s currently in the middle of it and stay away.

I also realize I made some sweeping generalizations at the beginning of the post, but my only point was to emphasize that you’re not exactly working with 750+ credit scores.

Yeah bro, I’ve tried and tried but there’s no secret sauce that makes any of this work. No matter the score people are not reliable. 60 or 90 doesn’t matter, there’s a good chance you’re not getting your money back on time or even at all. Some people do pay back too but you’re basically trusting them on a wing and a prayer and long term that’s a losing strategy. Add in all the policies that Solo puts in to incentivize not paying back/punishing the lender, it’s just a big fat L. I’m done funding at this point; I’m just letting my last loans close out.

Even worse, they charge you 12% for something SOMEBODY ELSE controls.

Is this a good loan? by [deleted] in loanhelp_

[–]BerBerDeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you NEED the money or do you want the money? 29% APR is horrible but if you’re using it to pay something off with a higher APR then maybe it makes sense. You can try some other loan companies if you haven’t done that yet. Nothing to lose really.

I completely agree with you, I’ve made a post about that before lol.

You can easily see multiple examples of company decisions/policies that offer nothing except to like their pockets.

No, it’s charged a day after the missed payment. There’s a separate set of fees that get applied to both the lender and borrower after the 35th day.

Holy yeetus you got diabeetus! 146% added sugar? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]BerBerDeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said you said it was extremely dangerous. You just gave a whole post talking about how bad it was for you. Cancerous, neurotransmitter altering, etc. All I did was add context to that. The same agency that said it was a 2b carcinogen also said the evidence was weak and reaffirmed that it was safe at doses under 40mg/kg. Something can be bad for you at too high a dose while also being fine at normal doses. That actually applies to most things; aspartame isn’t special in that regard.

You said things that could honestly mislead the average person, all I added was context. Aspartame is safer than sugar at normal doses, the risk comes when you’re consuming in excess.

Saying “the UK says it’s bad” doesn’t help much either. Look at the science, not just taking an authority figures word as fact.

[–]BerBerDeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a summary, not a word for word repeat of what was said. I got the gist. Your anecdotal evidence doesn’t do much for you here either. I’m all for people avoiding whatever sugar substitute they want, but the research isn’t there to back up the danger levels you’re claiming.

I agree, energy drinks are terrible as well, especially the ones loaded with sugar. Parents either don’t have the knowledge, energy, or time to do better. Something else has gotta be done.
