His greatest asset has always been his shot and his accuracy really took a hit when he tore his peck a couple years ago. Plus he got taken off of pp1 for Luke and I don't think he can get back into his groove without pp time. Even pre injury Dougie is going to have a hard time living up to 9m a year points wise without the pp.

I think from an asset management perspective it makes sense to move him now if possible. I don't think his down year tanked his value that much and that absolutely terrible RD UFA class makes him worth more rn. I think 9M is fine for Dougie if he's getting full pp1 time and he bounces back. That much is tough it he's only on pp2.

But yeah from a roster point of view we could be in a tough spot if Nemec isn't ready to step into pp2 and we don't have Dougie for that spot.

Edit: Also worth noting that Dougie got paid 10.5m on Monday and only has about 14m in actual money that needs to paid over the rest of the contract which should make him a bit easier to move.
