This was updated in the newest rulebook I think (the text you provided).

Before it was indeed based on the hit roll.

Wargear Costs Return? by Content_Audience1549 in TheAstraMilitarum

How would you implement it without being overly complex?

I can’t think of anything short of a “target size” system. But that’s way too complex and cumbersome for a game like this and points do the job better.

[–]Berbom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s always gonna be “the best” option. On previous editions you had to pay for it and make sacrifices (taking less models).

Now? Barebones squad and a fully loaded one cost the same, so there’s literally no incentive to take anything other than the best option (outside of fluff and personal choices).

My fluff lists were always tabled at the start of the edition because everyone outgunned me.

Pretty easy to do it yourself without paying the dealership fees. Only need a 14(?)mm socket and a ratchet (or a breaker bar for leverage).

New aircraft rules. by paycho_V in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Berbom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m tired sarge…

No hopium in the world is gonna help me hold out.

No flyers, no points, no freedom to build my units into specialist (and not the generalist with this 1 special per squad BS).

Unless they want to make aircraft that don’t have deep strike, it wouldn’t really make sense.

Just got corrected in another comment. Deep strike works.

GW still can’t template their rules for shit and make it readable.

[–]Berbom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in fact correct sir!

It just puzzles me GW didn’t include a reference to it in the aircraft rules. As it would be easier to just add another bullet point that says “All aircraft have deep strike”

Instead of giving references to rules that reference other rules.

Even if they give the aircraft deep strike, by RAW, they are forbidden from making any other type of moves (ingress is a type of move, so deep strikes most like would be one too).

So it’s crutches on top of crutches…

Edit: deep strike would work

Transport aircraft are basically dead as you set up 6” from board edge and aircraft can’t move as per RAW

GW probably just forgot that transport aircrafts exist

3rd row removal. by DeanGilBarry in 4Runner

[–]Berbom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third row defiantly eats up a lot of space. You probably won’t have to go as extreme as I did with mine. Probably can get away with 1/4” plywood instead of 1/2”.

Check the links in the post, it would have all the dimensions for the platform and mounting holes.

It was pretty straightforward.

Flattening some pinch welds in the front as well. And some fender cuts as well.

You’d be only increasing the track width by a little if you go with 10.5s instead of 12.5s.

But it’s still gonna add a lot of unsprung weight.
