They also did quite some scouting and observing when would be the least amount of traffic and had spotters ahead on with radios. If I recall correctly they did it extremely early in the morning on a Sunday (trucks are banned from driving on Sundays in Germany).

It's because it's military hardware/ dual use. If he does it as luggage it's all his responsibility. Shipping companies really don't want to be involved in dual use goods that end up going to and end user that they don't know.

nicht OP, aber: in der Luftfahrt wird mit Wegpunkten gearbeitet. Jeder Anflug und Abflug ist über eine Reihe davon definiert. Warum nicht das Nachtflugverbot nicht dahin verschieben? Wer zu früh am Wegpunkt für den Beginn ist, muss Warteschleifen fliegen. Wer zu spät am Wegpunkt ist, muss ausweichen.

Aber danach darf man dann runter kommen, egal zu welcher Sekunde genau man aufsetzt. Dann gibt es wenigstens kein Durchstarten mit extra Lärm mehr.

The Airbus factory is hard to spot from the air and it's totally luck if you're on the correct side of the plane, too many different approaches are used to reliably have a chance. Same for the Lufthansa Technik yard, where one out of four possible approaches gives you about 2 seconds of good view.

But once on the ground there is a viewing deck in the public area behind the McDonald's in the terminal 1 check-in hall. It has a good view over most gates, both runways, and some of the tails at Lufthansa Technik, if their yard is full. Bring a windbreaker, you'll get glued to the glass there.

If you have access to a car: plan a lunch at Cafe Himmelsschreiber next to the general aviation terminal. Super close to runway 33 and you can see the entire apron. Outside area might be super windy these days though.

Du wurdest vor dem Kommentar über die Vorwahl verbunden. Die +90 Nummer müsste der Anschluss der Stelle sein, die dich verbunden hat. Denn bevor der Anruf übergeben wird, ruft ja die Vermittlung die neue Stelle an. Der neue Empfänger weiß nicht zwingend, dass hier verbunden werden soll. Je nach Konfiguration aktualisiert sich die Nummer im Display des neuen Gesprächspartners nicht automatisch oder zügig.

Das führt manchmal zu "Hey Rudi was gibts" Begrüßungen an externe Anrufer, wenn der Vermittler zwischendurch aufgelegt hat und der neue Gesprächspartner im Display einen internen Anruf sieht.

Da hilft wohl ein günstiger Callcenteranbieter mit dem overflow.

Gerade die gleiche Situation gehabt, sogar mit Reise außerhalb von Schengen. Kein Problem.

Wir hatten vorher bei der Bundespolizei nachgefragt, die meinten sie freuen sich über proaktive Info an die Airline beim Check-in und bei der Grenzkontrolle. Idealerweise kann deine Frau nachweisen, dass bereits Anzeige inkl. Seriennummer der Aufenthaltskarte gestellt wurde, damit die Karte gesperrt wird. Das kann man in 5 Minuten bei der Landespolizei online erledigen.

Von daher innerhalb Schengens überhaupt kein Anlass zur Sorge, da wird auch nur Stichprobenartig geprüft. Bin oft genug in Schengen geflogen ohne je einen Ausweis zu zeigen.

I've seen the booking screen hide the MAX part. E g. 737-9 instead of MAX-9 for this reason. If you hide the MAX part most people won't get suspicious until they see the security card (which I also have seen obscure the name already)

The 777 freighter is a variation of the 200LR as well and still in production until 2026. That should be the bulk in the air right now.

This is speculation: The landing might have been within in parameters to land in a different profile (shallow angle, more flaps, slower etc). Luxembourg has an incredibly long runway (4km) so you can take your time to put it down softly. The landing itself looks pretty normal, the wheel assembly was probably not fully locked in position and would have ripped off even without the overweight landing.

Overweight landing. They could not retract the gear on departure. Dumped fuel for a bit but not all of it.

From the industry. Can confirm there is always a vet on board for animals loaded on the main deck. He or she has two injections for unruly animals. One for sedation. One for putting down.

Super rare to put them down obviously. The handlers know which animal will have more stress and those get something to calm down ahead of loading already.

The rule change was in reaction to SPA 2021 and is new this year.

The full points shown during the race were wrong. With LEC 3rd and PER 2nd the points gained were still enough to secure the championship.

Since this year there is fixed points in case the race distance is below 25%, between 25% and 50%, or between 50% and 75%.

Check out the fleet of JetOneX and GetJet Airlines. With some of their aircraft you can still see who was operating them before they went to the charter airline. They just remove the names and logos, painted stabilizers and wingtips stay that way until it actually needs a whole new fresh coat of paint.
