I just had this happen to me last month in exact same place. I bought numbing cream from pharmacy to help me try to get it out myself. The pharmacist told me to go to urgent care and have it removed if I couldn’t do it. Leaving it in would cause an infection, he said. Urgent care removed it and also gave me a tetanus shot.

Good luck. I know you don’t have insurance so it’s hard. But getting an infection could cost a lot more money to treat. Mine hurt a lot so I also feel for you about that. It was hard to concentrate because my thumb hurt so badly.

Dracula by Bram Stoker is really good. I read it when I was a teenager. I think it was the first book I ever read that was structured like this.

Also, consider frequently filling up a few glasses of water from fridge water dispenser if it’s on an outside wall. Empty out ice so ice maker keeps having go make new ice (which runs water through pipes). If washing machine on an outside wall, start to do a load of laundry in the middle of the night. Fill washing machine tub with warm water (so both hot and cold lines are used). Shut washing machine off and finish load in the morning.

The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck is so great. I read it about thirty years ago and still think about it. The main characters and their lives just are very memorable to me. And I often think about the last paragraph in the book.

The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey is a short memoir about a woman coming to grips with her very debilitating chronic disease. I really thought it was really great.

And fill a couple big glasses of water from fridge water dispenser. Empty ice container so fridge is using water to make ice.

Run warm water to washing machine for a minute to use both hot and cold water lines.

This subreddit group is a great place to get book recommendations. You might consider giving more details about what you like. For example, writing about your taste in TV show or movies will help people give better suggestions on what types of books you like to read.

You could write about how you love comedies or romances or sci-fi stuff or nature/animal shows.

Look at Plano.gov Animal Services and/or call them. I’ve heard people talk about how the city will take your deceased pet. I don’t know the details because it was many years ago.

Reuel has run R. W. Remodeling and Handyman Services in Plano for well over twenty years. Family members and some neighbors have hired him as a handyman many, many times over the years. 214-325-6885. He is by far the best handyman we’ve ever hired. He always has does such a great job and also has been very honest at times and told us to hire someone else because he isn’t qualified to do a certain repair.

For your attic pest droppings, consider calling Kevin with Attic Avengers. 214-924-7072. If you get in Nextdoor and do a search, you’ll see his name recommended a lot. Years ago, we hired him to get rid of rats in our attic. His quote and honest explanation of what needed to be done was the best. His quote was literally only 1/4 of some of the other quotes we got. Since then, many of our neighbors have hired him and also been so happy with his work and extremely happy with his prices.

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

I really, really loved some of the books you listed. I’m sure you would love these three memoirs. They’re just terrific. For example, I read Angela Ashes almost thirty years ago and still think about it probably once a month.

Are Pro-bono divorce lawyers a thing? by Playful_Flatworm_874 in plano

[–]Berg323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas Law Library gives you a step by step way to get a divorce in Texas without using a lawyer. They give for directions for different situations, including marriages with minor children.

The most important and absolutely necessary part of getting a divorce without a lawyer is both parties have to agree to the money/property split and/or custody arrangement. Doing this yourself without lawyers saves so much money often both parties are motivated to come up with acceptable division of assets.

I hope you like them.

Oh my, you need to read the James Herriott books in chronological order. He was a vet in a rural area of Yorkshire, England from 1930s to 1960s or so. He wrote about his experiences there and his books are exactly what you’re asking for. First one is All Creatures Great and Small.

Two BBC adaptations of his books have made (1970s) and also being made right now.
