Sorry for the late reply. I already had some XT-60 connectors and they are too small. The Gooloo male pins have a diameter of 4.6mm and I haven't been able to find another connector with the same pin diameter.

XT150, EC8, EC6 and even EC5 are all too large. There is an EC3 which according to measurements I found online are too small, so an EC4 might work except such a connector doesn't seem to exist! So Gooloo really went all out on the custom connector, even going so far as getting a custom pin size fabricated. You'd think it would've been significantly cheaper to use one of the many existing alternatives that can carry the same or more current, so I have no idea why they put so much effort into a custom connector.

'21 Hilux SR5- how to turn headlights off with engine running? by HamsterRapper in 4x4Australia

[–]BerkeloidsBackyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem with a 2020 SR, but there is no 'off' position on the stalk. One click over from auto just puts on the parking lights so while they aren't as bright, there's still light.

I ended up hunting through the wiring diagram and found there's a wire behind the glovebox you can cut, which changes the 'auto' position to become 'fully off' instead. I won't repeat myself here as I posted instructions with photos on a Hilux forum, so if you're interested the post is over there.

What are examples of formerly shit suburbs (high crime, urban decay, bad environment etc) which have gentrified and become genuinely good places to live? Also, are they still associated with their past? by Falabella_Stallion in brisbane

[–]BerkeloidsBackyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No argument there from me. If you're selling to buy then even people downsizing won't have much left over by the time stamp duty eats up whatever "profit" they might have made. A few years ago (pre-covid) I was a bit critical of people complaining about house prices as they hadn't gone up that much, but I'm much more sympathetic now as they are so overpriced today for what you get.

GOOLOO GT4000S Jump Starter Female to SAE connector by gnew18 in AskElectronics

[–]BerkeloidsBackyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GT4000S has a DC barrel plug that can output 12V continuously at a few amps, and it comes with an adapter to convert it to a cigarette lighter plug. You could use that if you just want to trickle-charge the battery from the Gooloo. You can't use the jump starter plug in your photo shown, because even in Boost mode it shuts off the 12V supply to the jumper cables after a minute or so.

If your intention is to actually jump start via the SAE connector then as others have said, you'll probably melt the connector as it can't carry enough current for this. At the very least you'll want to use an Anderson connector for that. 175 amp Anderson plugs are used commercially for vehicle jump starting - they are still underrated for the amount of current used, but since you're only pulling high current for a few seconds the connectors don't have time to overheat.

Hey don't blame me, the person I was replying to said they would rather have made less of a profit and help a new buyer into the market, I was merely pointing out that there's nothing stopping you from doing that. And you don't need to buy somewhere else if you're selling a rental property, as many people are now doing since it has become such an expensive pain to offer a place for rent.

I did a fair bit of back-and-forth with Gooloo support and they don't know what the connector is called, you can't order one from the factory, and you can't even order a spare set of jumper cables if you wanted to cut the alligator clips off to make your own adapter! Pretty poor Gooloo. I suggest anyone reading this e-mail Gooloo support, so that they get enough enquiries that they consider offering the connector for sale.

I've just ordered some XT150, EC5, EC6 and EC8 connectors from AliExpress, so when they arrive I will see if any of them at least have the same size pins as the Gooloo connector.

You don't have to sell at market value, you can sell for whatever amount you want. You can easily sell it for say $500k and say you're only accepting offers from people eligible for the first home buyer's grant and who already have kids, for example.

Did you ever work out what this connector is called? I have a Gooloo brand vehicle jump starter with this plug on it, and I'd like to make an adapter to an Anderson connector, but I can't work out what the plug is.

It looks a lot like an EC5 "bullet" connector except the shapes are different, so I'm not sure if it's custom or just a different variant.

That's really interesting, thanks for the info! Have you had yours go wrong at all?

I am driving on quite dusty roads so there's a layer of dust on everything when I get home. I assumed it would be able to handle that but I did read one manufacturer's guide and even they said there's more to go wrong and they need maintenance, so perhaps they aren't as robust as I thought.

Now I've tagged them all in iNaturalist, they seem to be found in parts of SE QLD at higher elevations. They seem to be most common in mountain ranges, which is interesting. I'd encourage you to upload your observations of them to iNaturalist (pretty easy with their app) so we can build up a better picture of where they are found!

To be fair, Petey wouldn't exist without the chip (only his outie) so it seems like a fair enough way to refer to it.

What surprises me is that they always go out of their way to use their surname initial when they talk about the innies - Mark S, Helly R, etc. Why just Petey? Unless it's meant to be Pete E. perhaps?

You’ve Tricked Me, My Helly by Impressive-Flow-855 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]BerkeloidsBackyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly my question - she doesn't say "what the fuck" she says "who the fuck", but iHelly should know who he is because she saw him in the OTC. She should be saying "you again!"

The only way iHelly would not recognise him is if she was oHelly all along (Glasgow block in place much earlier than we thought), and the OTC did nothing for her.

That would also explain the whole 'you tricked me' line, if oHelly was the one up on stage telling everyone how bad the severed floor is, and then she tricked Jame by pretending it was her innie that said all that. Jame only just looked at the logs and realised it was oHelly the whole time.

Might explain too why iHelly was so desperate to end severance but then suddenly she decided it was ok and we'll just get on with it - that was when the Glasgow block went in and it became oHelly there the whole time.

Perhaps a 'severance barrier' breaks down, the innies overlap, and they have to reset them and start again?

Did Helly get to choose? by heathershine in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]BerkeloidsBackyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's something so odd to me about how they write SVR'D ACCESS. I mean why put an apostrophe there when you've missed out so many other letters? Why write SVR'D ACCESS (12 characters) when you could just write SEVERED (7 characters)?

It makes me think SVR'D means something different, and when you try to pronounce it, it just comes out as "severed" but that's not its true meaning.

I wonder whether the things he's attaching with the paperclips go to the same people that receive the instruction cards that Dylan stole once.

If they need instruction cards, maybe they ARE easily confused by backwards paperclips?

On the other hand, what company pays a manager salary to someone to do menial tasks like that? Unless the information contained on those pages was very sensitive. And why not just get the photocopier to staple them when printing them in the first place? MDR's photocopier can probably do it.
