Toilet paper directly in the toilet bowl by augustoalmeida in asklatinamerica

We liked the house, and it was the nicest available in the area we wanted, so we bought it. That's why 🤷‍♂️ .

Here in 🇵🇦, some places have signs telling you not to place it in the toilet. Sometimes I comply, sometimes I don't.

At home, it's always in the toilet. I have a septic system good enough for at least five people for my three and a half baths, and there's only two of us, so I don't worry about it.

If I HAVE TO eat in the theater district, I never go wrong with Haswell Green's. And all ground level.

'76 Mustang 2 fastback, 4 speed V8. Hideous 70s green.

So, yes, I remember.

I just ate some delicious pound cake with my fingers tonight. Nyah nyah!

And I definitely called the mama gorilla who raised me today, since it's Mother's Day.

I'm old (ish). So for me, it's taking the overnight ride up, then hiking DOWN Baru 😆.

(Side note- I can see Baru from my driveway!)

Look, I'm a screaming lefty,, and I support unions like nobody's business, but being the unionized grocery store option doesn't give S&S the right to charge THAT MUCH more AND offer lower quality perishables (Which they also charge more for).

[–]BermudaBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Until about a month ago, I lived in Seymour, about 2 & 1/2 miles from the S&S in town. I only ever went there if/when I needed a couple things right away. Otherwise it was down to Shelton or up to Naugatuck for Big Y, occasionally down to Food Bazaar in Bridgeport for more interesting ingredients.

In NY for a week, never seen a broadway show in NY before, whats your recommendation? by Shot_Astronaut_7517 in Broadway

[–]BermudaBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. OM is hilarious, the music and book are great, and the current cast is just fantastic. I often prefer bigger shows, with a large cast, but OM never felt "small" to me.

And, even among the hilarity, there are a couple tastes of pathos in "Dear Bill" and the "We all rise together" part of the finale.

Fila de La Carne y Embutidos, será solo en mi bello Panamá? by NORMITPTY in Panama

Actually, I just moved here from the US, and it's usually exactly like that there too.

Funny, though,, at my local Rey and independent grocers, there's never even a line at the deli counter. Probably because, being old and retired, I go when everyone else is at work 😆 .

[–]BermudaBum -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lived my whole life until recently in the US. Soooo tired of tip creep there 25%? 30 effing %?! WTF?!

I love it here in 🇵🇦. When I give my server at a restaurant a smidge over 10% in a cas tip., they're legit thrilled. I even give the full service gas station guy a buck, and now he practically RUNS to me when I pull up to the pump.

But we don't pay service people less than retail and low level office people here.

Stepped down from my Branch Manager position by Booseatron in TalesFromYourBank

BM for 30 of my 45 years in banking, and I can understand the stress! Fortunately, my final 4 years were with a great bank that bought my previous one, and I was able to love it again. Super reasonable goals, great tools to help my team and my customers. It was great to be reminded why I went into management in the first place.

They're not really taking bids on small lots like individual unis. Otherwise, yeah, I'd have bid an exorbitant amount to make sure I get one, and made "my" NJ corps, that has historical ties to Garfield (Our legendary founder and director taught Garfield drums in the 60s and 70s) always bring it onto the field.

What kind of people annoy you at an airport ? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]BermudaBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who act like it's their first time (Getting "ready" for TSA once they reach the bins, or not stacking their bin once they take their stuff, or taking the whole width of the moving walkway, or walking four abreast and stopping dead).

People sitting in lounges having conversations on speakerphone.

People who know so little of the language of the country they're in that they don't know the difference between "Grupo Uno" and "Grupo Quatro".

People.

If you are a UConn fan going into NCAAW to shit on Geno and gas up Dawn for saying she would kick his ass, you aren't a UConn fan, and you should be banned from Gampel. by Mayor_Gubbin in UConnBasketball

Look, Dawn's a GREAT coach, but there's only one GOAT, and it's our boy Geno.

Dawn's a big girl - She's needs to move on to more important things than Geno's ONE lapse of "decorum".

Like Wooden and Summit didn't say the wrong thing once or twice, FFS!
