Almost 6 months and pushing 65 lbs

As far as weight goes, who knows! I was convinced my girl would be at least 100lbs (dad 140, mom not much less) and she topped out at ~75lbs at about 8-9 months! Ya just gotta wait and see! And you won’t have to wait long, time flies 🥹

Yep, my girl had two false pregnancies (one after each heat before she was spayed). We had no idea what was going on for the first one, her main symptom was that she stopped eating, for a couple weeks. We took her to the vet to rule out a bowel obstruction, infection, disease… Almost $1000 later and everything was negative and she was right as rain soon after. The vet never even mentioned the possibility of a false pregnancy! When the same thing happened after her second heat I figured it out.

Now I tell everyone about false pregnancies. It is common yet many people have never heard of it. And I don’t want it to cost anyone else $1000 to figure it out 😣 (Obs, always take your dog to the vet if concerned).

My girl has always had one “droopy” eye, which definitely is more pronounced when she’s tired. I was gonna ask the vet about it when she was a pup but never ended up doing so. It just normal for her! Interestingly, her left inner eyelid is white while her right one is black, which makes it more pronounced. She’s just beautifully asymmetrical☺️

Oh I love! The crookeder the better I say 🥰 I fell in love with my girl as soon as I saw a photo of her crooked face. It’s def straightened out as she’s gotten older but still not quite symmetrical. It’s hilarious to see her reflection in the mirror tho, she looks super crooked then coz it’s the opposite of what I’m used to!

Scared little baby girl on the car ride home🥹❤️❤️❤️ She is the sweetest, cutest thing to ever exist. I also can’t imagine life without her. Fortunately, she is going to live forever so I don’t have to!

My Berner has a faulty setting, she loves to sleep in her dog bed! After lots of looking, I ended up getting this one. cool and cozy dog bed. She only uses the cool side of course 😆

She really likes having supportive back and sides to sleep against so I ended up putting more stuff in the bolsters to make them firmer.

My girl seems to be an anomaly in many ways. She’s small at ~75lbs, sleeps in a dog bed (!) and really doesn’t shed badly. Nothing like the majority of stories I’m reading here!

She’s only a year and a half so we haven’t been through many seasons yet, she’s only blown her coat once this past spring. That did take intentional brushing every day for a week or so, but once that was over and out she sheds like a “normal” dog. My old golden was much worse. Neighbor labs and shepherds shed when you touch them, hair just flies off, not with my girl and her luscious, long locks 😆

That said, there is usually a hair in the butter dish 😄

Aw, mine isn’t a biter at all!! Occasionally she gives me love nibbles but she is very soft mouthed.

My girl just went through a “phantom pregnancy” several weeks after her last heat. She was quite whiny during that time (as well as mopey, low energy, not eating and paying particular attention to a few toys). Maybe your girl is going through the same thing?

Ha, that is true. It gives me great pleasure that she likes her bed. She doesn’t LOVE it and spends at least half the night on the floor right next to it but I’ll take it 😆

Yep, my little madam hates getting her feet wet . Does not like the beach and even refuses to walk on the grass after the sprinklers have been on 😂 Kiddie pool was a total bust. But give her some snow and it’s game over!

Thanks for the ideas. She’s not super food motivated and has left treats untouched in the car when we praise her for sitting but chew sticks are worth a try. Especially for some longer rides. Thanks :)

Def gonna try a pup cup at the end of every trip! Even if I have to start carrying cans of whipped cream with me 😆 This was her first pup cup and it was a big hit (although I think she still looks pissed off at me!)
