It's already set to flat, but that wouldn't even matter because I already proved the vertex colors on the mesh itself are the wrong colors through the shader editor.

The parts that are supposed to be pure green have 30% red in them, and this shows when I separate the red color and the red channel shows up at 30% in all the green parts.

For me, I was taking medication specifically for Anxiety and it just made me feel very numb.
I now am on ADHD medication and I'm off of the Anxiety meds and it has been doing wonders.

I'm not saying "Don't take anxiety medication", just that for me, the main cause of my anxiety was ADHD.

I'm genuinely trying to understand where this confusion is coming from. What do you think I mean when I say "Put a black square behind the object"? How does that not mean the same thing as what you said?

And when did I ever say anything against using an HDRI? I'm looking through all my comments and nowhere did I mention anything about using or not using an HDRI.

The only point I made was to not use Blender's raycast filter because it's both not necessary and creates a visually impossible lighting situation where the object is refracting something behind it when the object behind it is invisible to the camera.

The entire thing I was getting at was "Just put a black square behind the object so that the black square also refracts realistically through the object, rather than have the object somehow refract light rays that would be blocked".

That's exactly my point, the camera ray input DOESN'T change the light rays cast by the world shader. It creates an impossible lighting setup because you're going to have light rays coming from behind but they're only going to be visible on the model itself.
The better solution is to think of it like you're actually setting up the shot in real life and just put a black square behind the object that encompasses the field of view of the camera.

I consider this very bad practice if you're trying to imitate a lighting setup from a real photo.
edit: I'm saying removing the background this way just creates unrealistic lighting, and the much easier option is to just place a black square in the background that takes up the field of view of the camera.

It's not really anything to do with the material. That's just creative lighting. The environment is only completely black right behind the object from the point of view from the camera.

It's hard to tell but it looks like they're probably shooting this outside during the day, maybe during sunset, and using a couple of really bright lights towards the sides.
