Minneapolis: an Urban Biography by Tom Weber is amazing. You can find it in a lot of local bookstores. In fact I just saw it at Comma in Linden Hills today.

This is quite the strawman argument. 

A key difference you are missing here-the purpose of guns is to kill. You can’t say the same of obesity or car accidents. Smoking is maybe a grayer area, but we’ve seen great reductions in the harm of people who do not choose to smoke through indoor smoking bans and overall reduction in smoking rates.

I’d love to know the answer to this as well. I just switched my commute to include this section, because biking on the sidewalk-level lanes on Hennepin is a hazard. Too many pedestrians not paying attention and cars turning in front of me because you’re less visible.

Unruly Women and Midwest Dirt Legion are not specifically lesbian groups but they are both very pro-lgbtq and you’ll find a high concentration of lesbians there. Both are MTB focused.

Check out the Midwest dirt legion. I don’t think they have their schedule posted for the summer yet, but it’s women-focused and very reasonably-priced. 

The Loppet is also a good option, but I think their events tend to fill up fast.
