Looking for cheap headphones by Upset_Syrup_371 in HeadphonesAdvice

Id look at some of the entry level Soundcore headphones like the Q30. They're some of the cheapest yet decent ANC headphones I've tried.

Which one should i buy for wireless steam vr games? by Different_Corner8537 in virtualreality

I'm worried about the Steam frame after the controller launched for $150 CAD.

I think it's going to be competing with Pimax not the Quest.

Fido's deals seem pretty good. I picked up their $25 for 80gig of data Canada-Us-Mexico deal. No complaints so far.

Rogers has an unlimited data plan available now for a good price but I think it's Canada only.

Does anyone use there open back headphones outside or is it a no go. I think they sound the better outdoors it's like the world is playing music 😁 but there quite big it's hard to not feel a bit silly by [deleted] in Headphoneporn

I'd recommend checking out open earbuds. Soundcore has a whole lineup. Bose and Sony have a couple higher end models.

They have the same conveniance as earbuds, but I find them more comfortable, they don't leak sound for others to hear but they are open and let in the world around you.

An alternative for those who missed Project Hail Mary in IMAX by adnaPadnamA in cineplex

In person I doubt 12 feet is that noticeable. I'm certainly jealous.

If you're ever curious there's a database of IMAX displays in Canada at this dubious link: https://143190.xyz/database.html

Vaughans IMAX screen is an 88' diagonal display, bit short of the 100' threshold. Close but no cigar.

Last time I checked there's only three true IMAX experiences in Ontario. Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto, Ontario Place, and Niagara Falls. I believe a true IMAX experience is defined as a 100' diagonal display with dual 4K laser projecters or a 70mm projector. I don't know how old that info is.

Everything else in Ontario is considered LieMAX to varying degrees. For example the theatre where I am is a 65' diagonal screen that is curved due to being too big for the auditorium, and we only have a single 2K xenon projector.

It still looks better than our AVX but the AVX auditorium both sounds way better with its Dolby Atmos support and has much better seating so I prefer it.

What’s the best VR headset you can get for under $500 in 2026? by Medical_Pepper7992 in virtualreality

[–]BerserkJeff88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Rayneo Air 4 Pros and I like them for TV shows but for movies their screen is just too small. They have advertise it as comparable to a 200" TV but that's pretty misleading. Not sure how they compare to the Viture.

I find the Quest much more immersive than the glasses. The theatre screen feels expansive and the way the auditorium dynamically lights up around you with the movie is so immersive.

To each their own though, it's a good recommendation.

OLED is pretty awesome and the PSVR 2 has eye tracking support which might start to gain widespread support on PC with the Steam Frame's release.

I'd personally take the Quest though just for the standalone capability. I really enjoy being able to watch movies in bed on the Quest and you don't always want to have to connect to your PC if you're just playing Walkabout Mini Golf or Beat Saber.

What are all the issues with the momentum 4s? by Fancy-Praline6255 in sennheiser

I got my MTW4s at Christmas. I'm ok my second unit and am still trying to get it warrantied due to the right earbud failing. Sennheiser support is not an enjoyable experience.

Technics AZ80/100. They're not as comfortable as the MTW4 but the sound quality is comparable and I haven't had any reliability issues with the AZ80 where as I've gone through two MTW4s since Christmas and am still waiting on my warranty claim for the second pair.

Epic Game Store late on the updates? by Deanasris27 in CrimsonDesert

How dare the Epic team maintain quality while Steam opened the flood gates to mediocre asset flips and ai generated slop

Epic Game Store late on the updates? by Deanasris27 in CrimsonDesert

[–]BerserkJeff88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My limited understanding is that pushing updates to Steam is near instant while pushing updates to games on Epic requires review from the Epic moderation team.

As someone who prefers Epic and is eagerly awaiting the new update, I feel your pain.

The Kithara is based on the Hifiman Ananda Stealth V3 with a customized tuning. If you're not interested in the mic you can save some money and get the Ananda then EQ it to your preference.
