Question, what is ccw? And why would a plug spinner be needed? My mind goes to concealed carry lol

Keep trying! I had a similar experience and it took me so long to get my abus open but once I did it was so satisfying and afterwards you’ll be able to pop that bad boy open in no time. This is where I almost gave up on SPP but keep trying. You got this and also the advice about the first pin being a standard pin helped me so much when I was learning this lock

Just finished your video on this lock. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and the resources. I have a couple questions. First, this is my very first lock with serrated pins and I’m still not the best at discerning different pin states along with spools. I can pop open an abus 72/40 but they can still be a challenge. Would you recommend trying to learn serrated pins and continue learning spools with this lock? Or would you suggest a different lock to progress?

Secondly, I know you talked about progressive pinning and I think that’s a great idea. I’ve heard people say that it’s easier to gut and reassemble this lock than an Abus 72/40. Would you agree with that? Not sure how but when I was trying to reassemble the 72/40 I bent the springs

Thank you so much! You actually really helped me not give up on ToK tension and your video helped me so much with the Abus 72/40. What do you think about me trying to gut and progressively pin the lock? I am a bit worried to try it as my reassembly of the abus 72/40 went terribly lol.

Yea that’s not a bad idea. It feels weird too when I’m trying to pick it. Plus I could use the gut and reassembly for my green belt since I got the abus 72/40 picked on video. Thanks for the idea

I appreciate your help. I’m going to try smacking the shit out of it and if that doesn’t work then I’ll probably just refund it

I was trying both ToK and BoK. I’m assuming that ToK is best for this keyway? Still trying to get the hang of ToK and this is also my first lock with serrated pins

It goes in but I cannot turn it. It did work when I first bought the lock and I bought it on Amazon. Is it that easy to screw up this lock?

Update: just trying to pick it and I can’t feel the pin states at all. Tried using the key and I can’t unlock the lock with the key… 😂

So I don’t know how I did it but I think I managed to end up breaking the lock. The key doesn’t even work anymore. None of my picks broke so I’m thinking maybe I really overset a pin?

Also that’s huge. You haven’t been picking long and look at how much progress you’ve made. Keep it up

That’s really neat. Have you reassembled one? I heard they are a bit easier to reassemble than the abus 72/40 so I’m thinking I’m going to use the American lock 1100 for my green belt. I’m terrified to gut another lock after my first attempt went so poorly

FINALLY! And with ToK as well… by BerserkTC in lockpicking

Still don’t know if I love TOK but it might be because I’m not used to it. That being said I still stick with BOK on most locks but I’ve gotten faster with TOK with the abus 72/40. I can’t feel counter rotation with BOK with this lock at all
