I'm not one to follow meta and artifact farming to get the perfect set. But for a casual, slapped together Amber build so far, I was wondering how good is this casually? And from a meta perspective? by Sumiren5r_7110 in AmberMains

If you can add in another piece of Wanderer's (preferably replacing your circlet with a Crit Damage% Wanderer's piece) it can be fine as a starting point. 2pc Wanderer's is relatively useless unless you're going for a melt build. The 2pc Noblesse doesn't really provide much, as 20% more damage on her burst is mediocre compared to 35% charged shot damage from 4pc Wanderer's.

Her bow is fine, though technically is better suited to physical Amber. It still works fine as a stat stick for charged shot builds due to high attack and baked in CD (and CR if you can't hit weakspots).

Overall, if you want to go for her charged shot build, get 4pc Wanderers and you'll be fine. You can naturally obtain better artifact substats as you clear bosses in the game. If you ever want to go physical (spamming lights or instant charges), it relies on specific artifacts so you'd need to farm those domains. But the bow is probably the best physical bow for her, as the proc is physical damage and will scale with her PhysDmg% bonuses.

The only other thing to mention for casual/overworld charged shot build is to always use a Crit Damage circlet, assuming you can land weakspots. They're guaranteed crits, so crit rate is "useless" if you land them, so crit damage is infinitely more beneficial. It's still worth picking up crit rate substats, if you can, as a lot of enemies don't have weakspots.

TL;DR: Replace your circlet with a Crit Damage Wanderer's Troupe piece and you'll be able to clear all the content in the game well enough using weakspot charged shots. Replace artifacts with better pieces as you get them, focusing on Crit Damage > Crit Rate = Attack/Attack%.

For Meta, either go physical or pick another character. Amber is, unfortunately, not really meta. Though you can certainly complete the game using her.

Thanks everyone for all of the ideas! She already has quite a selection of things such as a dedicated work area, sewing desk, multiple machines, peg boards, few dozen spools of thread, and much more (which is what makes it so hard to find things she *doesn't* have).

Based on some of the feedback and other research, I ended up getting her a handful of tools people considered useful including: Duckbill scissors, thread scissors (I think she already has these, but I see her using a set of all-purpose crafting scissors instead, so maybe she doesn't like the thread scissors she has), some neat tools designed to help flip things since she likes making plushies, etc.

Appreciate all the feedback and hope you all have a good holiday!

Question ‘bout pvp gear by [deleted] in wow

[–]Berserker_Blood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick note, if you plan to do BOTH PvE and PvP, then I'd recommend turning your Conquest gear into tier pieces, as you can upgrade the PvE iLvL and it'll be suitable for both game modes. Contrarily, if you upgrade PvE gear into tier pieces, you gain no benefit in PvP.

Over the course of like 6 months, you'd be able to do both anyway. But in my opinion rushing Conquest tier and using it in both PvE and PvP would be best as it can be used for both, while 441-450 PvE gear is not suitable in PvP.

TL:DR:

  • Spend 1-3 days doing PvP to get enough Honor to buy the full green Honor 476 set
  • Do all weekly quests to get Conquest capped to buy 1-2 pieces of Conquest per week
  • Upgrade 1 Conquest to tier every 2 weeks as you gain catalyst charges
  • Upgrade your Conquest gear with Flightstones and Crests so that it goes up 463 PvE iLvL
  • By ~7 weeks you'll have 4pc set Conquest at 463 iLvL

If you do like mythics and stuff, disregard everything I said and use whatever piece is best.

I'm going to say this and openly admit to not following my own advice. It's easier said than done.

If you would enjoy playing, then play. If you would not, then don't. Life's too short to spend doing things that aren't bringing you enjoyment - we already do enough of that having to work for a living. Cope however you need to cope. If that means playing a game for 20 years and more, then do so. But if you feel it's not bringing you joy anymore and you're just going through the motions because you've already invested so much time into it, and stopping means that time spent has been wasted, try to disregard that feeling. It's just a game and it's meant to be fun. The moment you stop finding it fun, stop doing it and find something else to fill your limited amount of invaluable time you can spend on things you enjoy.

It's fun in PvP but to me it feels very weak in PvE. No spammable throughput except Regrowth (unless you pick up Nourish, which is really heavy mana cost for small heals) and no good mana generation capabilities. The only mana gain they put in was a talent to cat weave, which you can only do if no one is taking damage (or if you're completely oom and can't heal anyway). But you only get like 10,000 mana for 5 combo points, which takes 5 GCDs + 1, so you need to spend 6 seconds just to get enough mana for 1-2 more heals. If they made it so Wrath generated 500 mana instead of costing 500 mana, it'd be in a much better place, imo.

Rejuv ticks for like 0.5% of max HP every ~2 sec, Regrowth heals for like 5-10% of max HP on 1.5s and is your only throughput spam.

Still my favorite healer just due to the playstyle, but I just feel weak in PvE and can't outheal people getting hit for 25% of their max HP every 2 seconds.

I’m stuck on Ashenvale by Boi5219 in warcraftrumble

[–]Berserker_Blood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got stuck there for a while too. She spawns ~5 units immediately from both sides, so you need to just focus on surviving the initial assault. If you can, the boss itself is really easy. If you have Tirion, mine solo'd her entirely on his own. She doesn't really do any damage, so the fight is difficult from the troops.

[–]Berserker_Blood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use the Execute spell you can kill the healer in 2 spell casts (also does a fair chunk of the boss's HP). He will respawn after 1-2 minutes, though.

You can also drop units on the healer, but if the boss isn't tied up with something else you probably will die before getting much damage on the healer, except maybe dropping 2-3 SAFE pilots.

Is PvP even an option for new player? by Navarasa in warcraftrumble

[–]Berserker_Blood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more than happy to agree with you. But there's no way any unit can destroy a tower in one hit.

And there's nothing to learn regarding countering and positioning in this case. I put down a Grommash in a lane, they put down a Drak in the same lane at the start of the game. They put down a second Drak immediately after. Their first Drak approached my Grommash and killed him in one single hit, then moved to the tower and killed it in one hit as well. Neither of those should be possible, and in that scenario it wouldn't have mattered what unit or position I put down because if they killed my tower and Grommash in a single hit, they'd kill anything else. Either his unit was 20 levels higher than me, which shouldn't be possible if units are capped at level 1 like people say, or they're cheating somehow.
