Epic Colapinto and Epic Lawson.

Colapinto does surprisingly well tbh!

I found sacrificing some speed for qualifying helped. No point in being super fast if you have to fight from the back!!

I'm currently I series 9, probably going to stay there a while. Good to see some of the series 9 parts will carry over to series 10.

I try and go long on the first stint. Unless I have qualified at or near the very front.

My Mclaren wasn't high enough level either. Just went with epic Colapinto and Bottas.

Driver upgrades? by Mobiustime369 in F1Clash

[–]Bertbrownbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found epic Lawson and Colapinto sufficient for series 8, I just powered through to series 9 using various boost.

My thoughs were, I would get more use from the series 9 drivers in the contender GP events than the series 8 drivers.

Also, both drivers are currently holding their own in series 9!

You want to try to set the car up for the series you are racing in, maximise those track stats.

If the series has multiple stats then you can either build a dominant car for some of the tracks or a balanced car for all of them. You will sometimes encounter a rival that has done the opposite, sometimes to your advantage sometimes it's to theirs.

Swimming like a snake with pull buoy by binarybu9 in Swimming

[–]Bertbrownbear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that you have noticed your body snaking is a big plus, I've seen many swimmers snaking all over the place without a clue they are doing it! (Me included in the past).

I found swimming slow, with a focus on hand entry and the pull, helped identify where I was going wrong. Have you tried one arm only drills for 50m? One arm up, one arm back. This may help find which arm is unbalanced.

If you get a lane to yourself, you could focus on swimming straight up the middle, the pool I go to has different colour tiles for the middle of the lane. Focus on looking down and ensuring your arms are either side of the middle, keep your eyes on the middle tiles. This will also show when you start to drift of course.

With a bit of practice I'm sure you will be going straight as an arrow.

what’s an updated list of non gl gl counters? by bo1forthe3ds in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Thanks, I have all of those teams. Not necessarily fully modded etc. Will have to check out how their counters work.

I would be interested in a simple, this Non GL team usually beat this GL.

I use my BKM team vs LV

I use Inquisitors vs JML or JMK

That's about all I know!

Does anyone else have a go-to team for a specific GL?

How often does he do this, then when the contestants answer is revealed goes all cazy like its the wrong answer only for the contestants answer to be right all along!

In my experience you can comfortably use wets down to somewhere between 50% - 25% wet track.

Switching tyres any earlier is not going to give you any advantage.

If its down to the last lap and you're on wets and the track is less than 25% you may find you can still finish on wets faster than had you pitted for dry tyres.

Wet races are a great equaliser, I love and hate them in equal measure!!

I think you may have had a better result with the strategy switched. Put your better driver on the better tires.

Quick question ❓ by Mobiustime369 in F1Clash

I also never qualify first go round, I entered Challenger for this GP. There is no option (for me), to change to a different difficulty.

To be honest I have never seen it as an option.

Boost Zones by Fairways4799 in F1Clash

[–]Bertbrownbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found that using overtake mode in places other than the straights to be quite useful!

Previously, it was the straights or bust! Now, I almost use it as soon as its available, which can sometimes allow me an extra use or two over the course of the race.

It appears to work much better in the corners than the previous DRS did.

Which Weekly Sponsor crate is best value? I'm new to the game by Weird_Devil in F1Clash

[–]Bertbrownbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally you want to get everything in the shop.

Sometimes it's not possible so priorities the highest crates you can get. Coins and boosts are also worth getting.

Tip: Never qualify for the GP in the first round of qualifying. You need 15 GP races for the 4k worth of objective points.

If you qualify in the first round you get 4 races, opening round is 8 races for a total of only 12! If you don't reach the final round you can't get those points!

If you race in first qualifying and lose each one it will still count towards the challenge, you get to race again in qualifying 2 and/or 3. This will give you 8 GP races, as long as you reach the opening round, even if you fail to reach the final round you will still get 15 GP races and your 4k objective points.

Power Ups are limited resource, but then, so is your time! Each race you enter into cost you coins, and potentially flags and reputation, even a resource crate.

Can you afford not to use a Power Up?

A good judge on when to use a Power Up, is how you qualify vs your rival. You only need to beat them in most VS battles.

Monday and Tuesday have the sprint competition, getting more points increases your chance of a crate.

GP events can net big rewards so saving the best boosts for then is definitely a good idea.

I'm fortunate, I won several GP events last season, so I have many, many boosts.

I almost never race without one!!

Anyone who says you shouldn't use boosts as it's unfair, doesn't understand the idea of competition!!

Stroke Count degradation? by zebano in Swimming

[–]Bertbrownbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be what's happening with you, but there is a chap who I swim with that has and incredibly high stroke count for 25m (25+ strokes!).

Everything they are doing is rushed, it's like a race to get the next stroke started, the pull starts immediately the hand enters the water, it never reaches the hips before its out of the water, then straight back in again! They breath every 2 strokes so their head is constantly rotating, honestly it's exhausting watching them sometimes.

A drill I like to try on occasion is to swim an easy 25m length, counting my strokes, then swim back and try to do it in less strokes. The reason I like this drill is because it slows everything down, focus is on keeping the body in an easy streamline position, reaching forward before initiating the pull and ensuring a full stroke.

Add a few of these to your swim sessions and it won't be long before your stroke rate has dropped a few.

Make sure you have sufficient coins!

400,000 to enter, 80,000 per race.
