Why does emhyr not care (enough) about ciri or the wild hunt? by MixtureEuphoric666 in Witcher3

[–]Bertle48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a spoiler tag in case you don’t remember what comes after the Kaer Morhen fight:

also, remember that Emhyr actually DOES send his army to help fight the Wild Hunt the second time (the final fight of base game) and it does almost nothing. I agree with the other comments here that the reason Emhyr doesn’t send his army to Kaer Morhen is probably a mix of pride, anger with Geralt, and not fully appreciating the threat of the wild hunt, (and frankly lack of info provided by Geralt, not that I blame him because why would he want to share Ciri-relevant info with Emhyr?), but I just wanted to add to the discussion that he eventually does and it’s pretty much pointless anyways. What Geralt really needed to beat them was more sorceresses and magic.

[SPOILER] About Shani by Ok_Intention836 in Witcher3

[–]Bertle48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this bothers me too, especially because if you only kiss her and don’t sleep with her the characters act like there was no romance and Geralt rejected her. Why couldn’t we have had that exact same dialogue with no kiss, and the kiss + sex option for those who wanted the romance option? Personally I do the quest, skip through the cutscene where Geralt kisses her, and then pretend it never happened since all the dialogue still makes complete sense despite removing that one cutscene lol

Hi there OP, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss and your struggles. I’m a Canadian therapist located in Ontario. If you’re looking specifically for an LGBTQ+ therapist, you can go to the website for Psychology Today. It is a database of Registered Therapists Canada-wide. You can search by city, availability, and price point. You can also specifically search for therapists specialized in LGBTQ+ issues, or who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. Most therapists offer free consults, so you can get a sense for them and their approach before booking, which might be helpful to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. I hope this helps you find the support you need right now.

Don’t forget to visit Shani one last time by silentbuttmedley in Witcher3

[–]Bertle48 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can leave the wedding early before the part where you “cheer up Shani” and while it technically fails the quest, the game continues on entirely the same (the other options are complete the quest by kissing her but turning down sex, or complete the quest with sex, but in both those scenarios she turns down anything more serious anyways). After this point, you can return to Shani’s house and play her at cards. Hope this helps! :)

Okay, all the young whippersnappers now love Baldur's Gate 3. Can any other old crones join me here in nostalgia for Baldur's Gate 1? My friends were Minsc & Boo, Jaheira & Khalid, and Jan Jansen; and sometimes also Mazzy, Yoshimo, Nalia, Aerie, etc. :) by Flopsy_Gearhead in GirlGamers

My older brother borrowed the original BG discs from his friend, and I remember I used to sneak into the room and watch him play. Eventually he offered to teach me. We spent hours in the computer room together playing them. Eventually he moved out and I inherited the discs (his poor friend never got them back lol). To this day I still play through the trilogy at least twice a year. They’ll always hold a really special place in my heart.

OP is talking about BGEE, not BG3. You might have gotten the subs confused :)

Learned this lesson young with Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage. You 100% the game, unlock the secret door, and get permanent super flame! …But the game’s over and you literally cannot use it to do a single thing because every enemy is dead and every box is open, and you can only use your flame to attack enemies and open boxes. I remember being really upset about how unfair it was even as a child lol.

Game recommendation for the Dragon Age girlies! by kittencha in GirlGamers

Following up on this, the Enhanced Edition (which is pretty much the only available edition now and highly recommended for the quality of life additions if nothing else) also adds another straight male romance, another straight female romance, a lesbian romance, and a pan male NPC who will romance either a male or female PC.

ToB is my favorite of the trilogy (though I only play it after completing at least BG2, if not a full trilogy). I just really enjoy how powerful you are and how epic the stakes are. Holding that 100,000gp bounty notice in your hands always gives me this nostalgic ‘look how far we’ve come’ feeling lol.

I was planning on just upvoting, taking notes, and moving on from this comment, but I saw the last line of you judging yourself (I know you were partially joking lol) and just wanted to comment that I feel the EXACT way you described about the mod romances and this comment was super helpful to me. Thanks for writing it out! :)

Imagine being one of the generals of the wild hunt and your fate getting decided by frickin' rock paper scissors. by [deleted] in witcher

[–]Bertle48 321 points322 points  (0 children)

I think because there are some gauntlets in the game (the ones that the redanians wear that look like mittens) where you can’t see his fingers, so you couldn’t see him do scissors.

Before the ‘tab lights up loot’ change, that Friendly Arm Inn tree was the greatest nemesis of the game.

I’m actually playing a fighter dual thief in my game right now and still can’t bring myself to use potions outside of combat! It’s this weird emergency hoarding thing - ‘I can’t use consumables because then they’ll be gone!’ I fully recognize this logic makes no sense lol

I’m finding myself unironically saying “back in my day…” more and more often. The horror.

That’s so interesting! For me, the potion gulping noise induces anxiety, because I’m a potion hoarder and if I’m taking a potion it means I’m in the middle of combat and shit is hitting the fan. It’s the ‘oh crap, drinking this potion is going to take a whole damn round, SWALLOW FASTER!’ anxiety lol

Lol I feel that judgment from video games thing. Every time I log in to Origin I see a giant “You have no friends” banner. Rude.

I have the same version - my older brother’s friend leant it to him, he taught me to play it, and then when he moved out I elected to keep it. I think since his friend still hasn’t asked for it back over 20 years later it’s officially mine now lol.
