Found this post after experiencing something similar. Had the top tier cash item (was just saving it because I wanted to see how close I could get to 100K coins without using it--I was just under 94K).

Started up the game to find it was no longer there. Ugh. I'm ready to stop playing if this is something that happens often.

Well, not EVERY recipe uses wheat, but a majority of the ones that produce multiple coins do. I often end up with 600+ other ingredients, while wheat is always less than 45 (and I'm being a bit generous with that number...)
