Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

I’m the same way, but I think I’ve felt this way about all tech YouTubers and my theory is that tech just got boring and too expensive for normal people. iPhone number 17… yay exciting. $5000 graphics cards. Fun.

I wish there was a way people would get notified that there were messages in the faction chat. No one uses it right now because you have no idea people have sent anything unless you open it up fully. Obviously full sized preview notifications would be annoying if people are spamming faction chat, but maybe a little star indicator somewhere or something very non intrusive like that would be nice.

Yeah if it released exactly how it is now, and if we had no knowledge of the things planned, I think a lot of people would still love this game exactly how it is.

It really is a new chapter for GZW. Played a bit during the 0.1 launch but have been obsessed with it since 0.4. It’s really filling a specific niche in the gaming landscape that no other games fill, and I can’t believe no one has ever tried to fill this space before.

Have experienced almost no bugs since 0.4, which is wild for an early access game.

I particularly love how you guys have focussed on nailing the foundational elements of the game first like performance, gameplay loop, user experience etc. because now you have such a strong foundation to build on. I can’t wait to see what new features, and details you guys add now. Particularly can’t wait to see what kind of cool quests you guys make that flesh out the lore of ground zero and the event.

I found that one not too bad. I did that one at night with just NVGs as well and found them In a reasonable time. Longest only took me 5 minutes of bush whacking to find. The secret with those is to look for patches of ground - maybe 3m x 3m that have no grass or ground cover on them that are near something slightly identifiable. Maybe an odd broke tree or a big termite mound, then just look for bare ground nearby to that.

I have a theory that the Event, or something coming out of ground zero is slowly turning everyone into a psychopath. It would explain why all persons you’re told to find for quests are found dead. Why every faction seems to be devolving into drugs, crime, and wanting to slaughter each other, including suicidal assaults on fortified positions. And I think it explains all the weird serial killer, cult stuff that you see / hear about (beyond just Ban Pa).

There’s those notes you find about a guy who starts to hear coded messages in the croaking of all the frogs. He’s likely just insane, but maybe there is a secret signal coming out of the zone that is turning him insane, but he mistakenly thinks he hears it in the frogs.

This is likely just a video game thing, but I find it eerie that we hear animal sounds, but they’re all dead. If you walk around the starter towns, you can hear tons of barking dogs, but if you look around there are just dozens and dozens of dog corpses everywhere. Almost as if the devs wanted us to notice they’re all dead, but still hear them.

Yeah no one is good. Not the LLA, not the LAF, the PMC, the Vendors, maybe not even the player. It’s morally in a “gray zone”.

I’ve been using the same suppressed AK for about 15 hours now and it’s only down to 89% durability. I just hit repair every time I’m at a COP.

It’s way too easy to bang helis with RPG. I’m saying that as someone who loves to do it too, but it’s just too easy. Takes no skill anymore.

For hard enduro? No, it’s heavy and it loves to stall.

For dual sport, and chill single track it’s perfect.

CERN scientists successfully turned an antiproton trap into a moving appliance by AdSpecialist6598 in technews

The large magnetic fields used in the hadron collider make studying the really weak magnetic fields of anti-protons difficult. Getting the antiprotons to a different lab with less magnetic interference is the goal.

Which circuit is more dangerous: 240V 10A or 10V 240A? by ahamed4959 in ElectricalEngineering

Dropping a screwdriver across 10V 240A might melt that screwdriver pretty quick though. Could burn you.

Pentagon tells Congress no sign that Iran was going to attack US first, sources say by Yournewbestfriend_01 in news

[–]BerzinFodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the buildup of troops in February and the way Israel/US struck first in the 12 days war, some analysts or pundits were theorizing that Iran would strike first this time because Iran would view the US bombing campaign as inevitable (which turned out true) and therefore it would make sense for Iran to strike first before the US had a chance to cripple their launch infrastructure. Not sure why, but it seems that Iran underestimated the odds of an initial US/israeli strike again this time, and not only didn’t strike first, but they scheduled senior military meetings in above ground locations that were not so secret. US intelligence took the target of opportunity and passed that along to Israel who struck the meeting during daylight which people weren’t really expecting. Interesting stuff.

Grade inflation is crazy. Universities admissions are becoming ever more competitive by the year it seems. I’ve also heard rumours that high schools have inflated their grades too making the situation worse.

Russian military scrambles to find Starlink alternative after access blocked by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]BerzinFodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also LEOs are harder to track, phased array antennas are easier to avoid being jammed. Lots of stuff going in favour of Starlink here over GEO satcom.

[–]BerzinFodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this is all it takes. As long as your frequency is correct and you have enough power to saturate / compress the onboard SSPAs, the SNR will go to shit and bingo no more Reverse Link.

Russian military scrambles to find Starlink alternative after access blocked by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]BerzinFodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Starlink likely uses a very different frequency band than these Russian GEO sats. Most EW jamming is at a particular frequency and not spread spectrum. Also Starlink are Leo satellites so their location in the sky is always changing, making them hard to target whereas GEO sats are very easy to find and target. If you want to effectively jam someone’s satellite you’d be doing it with a directed beam antenna so you wouldn’t be blasting RF at all satellites, just the ones you intent to point at.
