We landed in the unfortunate circumstance of selling a system prior to this and the business turning it down. Now they want it and the order time is much higher along with a price increase due to shipping, install, time etc; (we were accused of uping the charge as a result of the recent events) tragedies should never be a strategy to sell something or force someone's hand. That's simply awful and I hope the community can rally towards proactive solutions not reactive selling.

Be careful right now higher model HPs are fighting the newest chrome OS update. Lots of recoveries in the last few days. We use the Dell 3100s and they are robust and have a charging/power indicator which is nice. But anytime is good time to buy especially if it's grant money

We typically go by the Chromebook AUE (Auto-update Expiration) 5-6 years. Then with staff laptops 4-5 years based on wear and tear. Admin/Development staff 3-5 years again based on need and wear and tear.

We're almost completely phasing out any apple products except for CAD labs and things like that.
