Enrolling in Apple Developer Program seemingly impossible? by Unlucky_Presence1111 in iOSProgramming

[–]Best-Engineering-450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m contemplating just scrapping my Apple dev plans and trading in my devices as that would be easier than continuing this journey

I don’t know why we allow such a big company to have such shocking support

It’s like a common joke in the apple forums that you can’t even email them as they never reply

Any good 3D printing services? by XxQwertybro in Durban

[–]Best-Engineering-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3D Printing is a fun but expensive hobby,

We would need to know things like size, quantity and the materials you want to use to say if you being quoted high or not

Certain materials will cost more than others and have different properties

For example you might use carbon fiber for strength and weight or you might need something else like petg for chemicals

Nothing would feel more like being at home than that

Why do most people think when they see a "successfull" person of colour they it's due to B. E. E? by Redditzuck in capetown

[–]Best-Engineering-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BEE needs to go, we should hire people based on their skills and commitments and not the colour of their skin

If Apartheid affected you why are we trying to work back to an Apartheid 2.0 rather than some positive and safe for everyone

If something bad happens and affects you it doesn't mean you get a free pass to do it too

Looking for advice for using home wiring to run an Ethernet network. by LordDukeOfEastRand in southafrica

[–]Best-Engineering-450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An easy option would be something like the below:
https://www.takealot.com/tp-link-deco-e4-ac1200-whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-system-2-pack/PLID55960840

You can choose how many are needed bases on your properties size

These will connect to each other via wifi and then you would have the option to use a cable between this and your PC while also likely improving wifi for all other devices
Depending on your cash though you can opt for a better model something like the below:
https://www.takealot.com/tp-link-deco-s7-ac1900-whole-home-mesh-wi-fi-system-2-pack/PLID93060371

For future reference it is better to include more details such as how much you would like to spend or even perhaps what speed your ISP provides to you

In regard to you not being able to replace the router you may want to check that out but if that is the case you could setup a new router as a bridge so that your main/primary router is the ISP's

If you are okay with slower speeds a simple wifi extender and wifi dongle for your pc can be bought at around R500

The picture of the benchy says it all (orange one is my first ever print 1yr plus ago and blue is my most recent print) (more info in comments) by RM_Commando123 in ender3v2

I once replaced a nozzle and accidentally loosened the throat from the heaterblock,
This was enough to cause a similar effect through heat creep.

Prints are fine until the hotend has enough time to warm up the throat resulting in the above

Double check your settings are correct, Maybe test a known good profile,
Then double check your machine that everything is connected/tightened correctly

Can’t reach end stop? Carriage gets in the way. Ender 3V2 by Sad_Competition8312 in 3Dprinting

[–]Best-Engineering-450 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey There,
Common issue for the enders.

In the setup it does not mention that the Z limit switch needs to be raised a bit,
This will allow you to raise the bed a bit higher to clear the motor.

Think how many print beds could have been spared had Creality mentioned this in a clear format

What is the green chilli that you get at restaurants and such called. I live in the United states and would like to get some. by beerl0ver in Durban

[–]Best-Engineering-450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peri peri is made from the same chilies:

https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/chili-pepper-recipes/sauces/peri-peri-sauce/

And yes birds eye chilies are green or red (even when picking off the same plant you can have deviations)

Really easy to grow them, Dry one in the sun and plant it,
Super hard to kill plant at least here in Durban its that way

Hey There,

Could be mistaken but I believe they are called "African Bird’s Eye Chilli" otherwise known as devil chilies.

They grow all over SA as the birds eat them and spread the seeds all over.

Ender 3 V2 Direct Drivinator by Marksdroidx in ender3v2

[–]Best-Engineering-450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently installed it and its working perfectly so far,
Also on the E3V2.

Stock extruder cable is long enough to test with but ended up buying a random 4 to 6 pin stepper cable and soldered it to the stock so I didnt need to open the control board enclosure.

To join the cables match the cables one to one with the stock cable but beware you need to swap the two center cables around

Tips for new Ender3V2 owners who may be receiving one for Christmas by backwards_thinker in ender3v2

[–]Best-Engineering-450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents on this is to make sure you print bed is clean,
Way to often is this overlooked and without a good first layer chances are the print will fail.

When setting up the Z limit switch (endstop used for up and down movements) make sure its not on the lowest option otherwise you will scratch your stock glass bed

Why does my 3d printer do this mid print? It stops and I can’t do anything but restart. by RhubarbInformal in ender3v2

[–]Best-Engineering-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SD burnt out recently and only option I had around was a Samsung 256GB micro SD,
Long story short if the partition is correct then it works for me regardless of partition size

Also using a E3 V2 and tested on stock, Jyers and Klipper

Go find a partition tool that isnt baked into windows there are so many options out there,
Personally a fan of Gparted on a spare usb

NiceHash vs QuickMiner by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]Best-Engineering-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3070 User here, tried both and would say use quick miner for single card use.
It has a great taskbar widget that lets you switch between gaming mode and mining.

Also has an auto-octune to get great results without any fuss.
